Have you had enough of winter?  It's supposed to not go above freezing for days we hear-so the best vacation you can take right now without leaving Manhattan is to go to the Capri of Lexington Avenue, otherwise known as MARCONY.  Marcony is by our friend Mover and Shaker Marco Pipolo:
We have quite bright readers, so you all know what he did was take his name and put NY (New York!) behind it.  Marco's from Capri and his mom sells real estate there, should anyone be looking.  Going to Marcony is like going to your own yacht that is landlocked.  But this yacht has better culinary endeavors than any floating yacht.
We love love love the chandelier.
All reviews require a green salad, and the Mediterranea at Marcony is spectacularly fresh and beautiful as well.  Baby field greens, cherry tomato, green and black olives, capers, roast pepper and marinated carrots are gorgeously dressed in a house dressing and balsamic reduction.  Marcony is one of the few places that we like having the salad dressing on the salad and the green olives in particular are perfect, and that's coming from someone that doesn't like olives.
Under Antipasti, we opted for the amazing Carciofi Giudea which is ideally crisp.  It's a warm and hearty yet healthy option and is a complete artistic triumph as the artichoke opens in front of you.  The crispy roasted baby artichokes have a party in the arugula salad and lemon dressing.
Some people say to themselves they are taking themselves away when they hop in the bathtub, but we say it when we eat something like this.  Our favorite item we tried was the Amorini Capri.  The black and white pasta is superb and superior to others of its ilk in its density, texture and taste.  The finely chopped squid and calamari ragu is absolute perfection, and the cherry tomatoes add nice color.  We would have used fewer breadcrumbs, but you know who does not like breadcrumbs on her food.   Overall, this dish is a winner!

Marcony has consistently been one of the strongest performers on Whom You Know in Manhattan restaurants.
Who does not like opening presents?!?!
The final entry from this nautical wonder restaurant is the Dentice al cartoccio.  The generous red snapper fillet is cleverly wrapped in parchment paper with cherry tomatoes, thyme, string beans and steamed gloriously in its own juices.  Those green beans are in the most elegant culinary pigpile imaginable inside and all of the flavors enhance each other here.
Finally, for all our MLS Peachy enthusiasts, you should know that there's a lot of blue here including SKY BLUE.

Marcony continues to be Terrific Takeout!
