Sopranos wine tasting dinner introduced at New York’s famous PATSY’S Italian Restaurant

Fine Italian Wines Inspired By Hit HBO Series Paired with Traditional Neapolitan Cuisine for One-of-a-Kind Dining Experience

New York, March 3, 2009 – Beginning on Monday, March 9th and running through Monday, April 6th, The Sopranos Wines, the line of fine Italian wines inspired by the hit HBO series is partnering with New York’s legendary Patsy’s restaurant, the original, family owned and operated Italian restaurant at 236 West 56th Street on Manhattan’s West Side, to offer a special Sopranos Wine Tasting Menu. The menu will feature a five course dinner expertly paired with The Sopranos Wines for $75 per person plus tax and tip.

The menu will feature a choice of Calamari Salad or Shrimp Cocktail paired with The Sopranos Pinot Grigio; The Sopranos Pinot Noir served alongside Mesculan Salad with Balsamic Vinegar; Rigatoni Fra Diavolo paired with The Sopranos Chianti; and choice of Rack of Lamb, Chicken “a la Patsy’s,” Sausages Pizzaiola with Peppers, or Salmon with Mustard Sauce paired with The Sopranos Chianti Classico. For dessert, Patsy’s will offer a choice of their homemade Tiramisu, Ricotta Cheesecake, or Canoli and Biscotti.

“We were big fans of the TV series and are very excited to be collaborating with The Sopranos Wines to create a unique Italian dining experience,” commented Sal Scognamillo, chef and owner of Patsy’s. “Many of our customers who have a fondness for the program will want to sample this special wine tasting menu.”

Founded in 1944 by Pasquale “Patsy” Scognamillo, Patsy’s has been in its current theater district location since 1954. In 65 years of existence, Patsy’s has had only three chefs, the late Patsy himself, his son Joe Scognamillo, and Joe’s son Sal Scognamillo, who has been manning the kitchen for the past 20 years.


Patsy’s, the original family owned and operated Italian restaurant at its only Manhattan location, 236 West 56th Street on Manhattan’s West Side, has been a legendary dining destination in New York for 65 years. In June 2008 Patsy’s opened their second and only other location in The Atlantic City Hilton Casino. The restaurant’s hours of operation are 12 PM to 9:30 PM Sunday through Thursday, closing at 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. Introduced in the New York City metro area and select markets around the country in late 2008, The Sopranos Wines is expanding its reach throughout the U.S. during 2009.
