BIG APPLE BUSINESS: Cream by Raquel Trout

Recognizing a need for a specialty boutique that offers a unique shopping experience on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Raquel Trout decided to open Cream NY Boutique. Inspired by her travels and love for fashion, Raquel aspired to open a specialty boutique focused on designers with a eye towards what she calls the 3 F’s- fun, feminine and flirty frocks. Raquel dreamt of a store that’s atmosphere mirrored the tranquility of St. Barths- quite, sexy elegance. Thus Cream NY came to fruition. Whom You Know thinks it is a lovely addition to the Upper East side.

After attending New York Law School and becoming a licensed attorney in NYS, Raquel decided to pursue a career in finance and since has excelled in her career. Working on the equity trading floor first at Citigroup, Bear Sterns and currently a hedge fund, Raquel is no stranger to a fast-paced environment and multi-tasking. She has ventured into fashion despite having a professional background being far from the industry. Raquel’s career path has made her well-equipped to be a savvy business entrepreneur. While continuing her finance career, she decided to simultaneously follow her dream and open Cream NY.

Raquel seeks to fill women’s closets with what she calls the “Crème de la Crème” of fashion from around the world. Her selection of clothing available at Cream NY showcases opulent fabrics, rich colors, exceptional ornamentation and importantly, figure flattering silhouettes for a woman’s body. The clothes appeal across generations and have timeless designs, in line with current fashion trends. Simply stated, the designs aim to make a woman look and fell beautiful, making Cream NY “the Crème de la Crème in women’s fashion”.
