NIGHTLIGHT: MACY’S AND IZOD JOIN FORCES TO REV-UP INDYCAR SERIES

On Tuesday May 19, Peachy Deegan happily attended the event at Macy's to celebrate the Indy 500: MACY’S AND IZOD JOIN FORCES TO REV-UP INDYCAR SERIES. Macy's welcomed Legendary Drivers Al Unser, Jr. (2nd from left), Johnny Rutherford (far left) and Rick Mears (far right) along with current professional race car driver Ryan Hunter-Reay (2nd from right) to Macy’s Herald Square.

Macy’s and Izod are placing fans in the driver’s seat to celebrate the Centennial era of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indy 500 with this in-store event. The window displays as well as the in-store extravaganza were well done! Whom You Know loved it. We are pleased to expand our sports coverage at Whom You Know as well.

In honor of the 100th birthday of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IZOD is bringing the history and excitement of the Indy 500 to the streets of New York by unveiling a museum exhibit “In Pursuit of FAST: 100 Years of Indy Racing Fashion and Design” at Macy’s Herald Square. The exhibit that will be on display from May 13th to June 3rd brings to life a century of American racing through archival elements – hundreds of original photos, logos and artwork from artists such as Leroy Neiman, vintage cars and memorabilia, and the “Borg” trophy – that visually conveys the history of the Indy 500. Race cars from every generation will be featured in the display, starting with the infamous “Baby Interstate” of 1916 to Danica Patrick’s 2002 racecar, which was the only female-driven car to ever lead a lap of the Indy 500. Peachy Deegan enjoyed meeting Danica at Macy's a couple of years ago! Whom You Know cannot wait to hear "Back Home Again in Indiana" and only wishes that Jeff Simmons was racing this year! Whom You Know is hoping to feature some of these legends as Movers and Shakers, particularly Rick Mears as he shares our love of Corvettes. Peachy Deegan saw his ZR1 being built in 1990 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
