NIGHTLIGHT: Bon Voyage to 54th Street Oceana, Hello to the McGraw Hill Building

Last night Peachy Deegan was sporting the Go America, GO! look which we recommend for the whole month of July, wearing her red Donna Ricco dress, her Jennifer Creel sunglasses and red, white and blue jewelry by her Florida designers to attend the Bon Voyage event at Oceana- a classy seafood soiree celebrating the end of seventeen glorious years at 55 East 54th Street. The Livanos family were gracious hosts to all and were represented by three different generations that Peachy Deegan was glad to meet.

The night was all about the menu and the success of the Oceana dynasty, which featured all five chefs.

We began with Rick Moonen, from the 1990s who called in via video and gave a "virtual" speech, while all other four chefs were there in person.

Oceana fabulously served with cocktails including endless champagne:

Rick Moonen's (the 1990's) dishes:

Salmon Tartare with Smoked Salmon and American Caviar, one of our favorites!

Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes (we are so sorry we missed these!)

Everything Crusted Tuna

***

Cornelius Gallagher's (The Early 2000's) dishes:

Loup De Mer in a Thin Bread Crust with Tamarind

Spanish Style Shrimp with Piperade, Chorizo and Shellfish Wine Jus

Peruvian Snapper Ceviche with Mango, Red Curry and Spicy Tangerine Juices

***

Ben Pollinger's (The Later 2000's, and Current!) dishes:

Kona Kampachi Tartare with Pickled Green Papaya, Candied Ginger Macadamias

Pressed Lobster, Lobster Coral Emulsion, our FAVORITE of the night

Taro Crusted Pompano, Bok Choy, Peanuts, Coconut Cilantro Curry

***

Dessert Menu

David Carmichael, 1997-2007

Huckleberry Creme Brulee, Dulce De Leche

Chocolate Caramel Mousse, Toasted Coconut

***

Jansen Chan, 2007 and Current

Chocolate Chip Pecan Bar, Buttermilk Gelee

Blueberry Mochi Cake, Coconut Tapioca Pearls
