An Update from Our Mover and Shaker, Tim Morehouse

Tim our favorite fencer wrote us:

Hope all is well! I just got back from El Salvador where US fencing captured 10 out of a possible 12 gold medals and 22 medals overall at the Pan American Championships!

A record for USA fencing! (everyday the local headlines read "Gringos" and "Yankees" dominate...like below!)

Yankee Gringos 011

In the team event, James, Ben, Jason and I defeated Mexico in the top-4 and then Venezuela for the Gold. In the individual, we swept the medals! I finished with 3rd with my teammates James Williams finishing 2nd and Jason Rogers capturing the gold! Mariel Zagunis, Kurt Getz, Nzinga Prescod, Courtney Hurley also all captured Golds their individual events.

We also spent some quality post-competition time dancing (we're more than just fencers!) and enjoying local cuisine.

Our next competition is World Championships in Turkey in October. We're taking a few weeks off and then we get back to work to prepare to try to capture the first medals in men's fencing in perhaps 70+ years. Pretty big drought to try and end! (1100 days until the the London Olympics begin!)

Whom You Know wishes them the best. Go USA!

US Fencing Team Delivers Record-Breaking Performance at Pan American Championships

SAN SALVADOR, EL SALVADOR (July 9, 2009)-Team USA Fencing delivered a powerful performance at the Pan American Championships, winning more medals than any other fencing team in the history of the competition.
