Tasty Tidbits: Flute

Flute, New York’s Champagne lounge and bar, has two locations in Manhattan and a new location in Paris, France, which opened in January 2008. Flûte provides an intimate and artfully designed setting where guests enjoy an extensive list of Champagnes and sparkling wines as well as a full bar, inventive sparkling cocktails and delicious sweet and savory nibbles.

Couples have been known to love their infamous curtained nooks while groups make themselves comfortable in their plush lounge or spread out at the bar. Table reservations are encouraged, especially for weekend nights, but are not required. They welcome private events for groups of 15 to 125 (capacity varies by location) and offer a number of bar and catering options.

Their schedule of weekly events and a full calendar of wine tastings means that there is always something new at Flûte.

Flûte was created by founder and owner Hervé Rousseau, in 1997, in a space on West 54th Street NYC that was once home to the Prohibition-era speakeasy, Club Intime. A native Parisian, Hervé was inspired by his experience in the wine industry to combine New York’s unparalleled cocktail culture with a French attitude towards champagne, where no one waits for a special occasion to pop open a bottle of bubbly. With 15 years experience in working with champagne houses and leading tastings and educational seminars, Hervé is one of America's top ambassadors of French Champagne.

Whom You Know looks forward to reviewing Flute!
