NIGHTLIGHT: Perfect PairingsSM Menu Campaign Launches in October to Benefit Local Meals-on-Wheels Programs

Restaurants in New York, San Francisco and Southern Florida team up to pair fine dining with a truly worthy cause

September 2009 – Throughout October, diners in New York City, San Francisco and Southern Florida will have the opportunity to experience uniquely crafted beverage and food pairings at nearly 100 restaurants to support Citymeals-on-Wheels, The Cooperative Feeding Program and Meals on Wheels of San Francisco. $1 of each pairing ordered will benefit the local Meals-on-Wheels program. Featured pairings include both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, savory and sweet dishes alike.

Perfect PairingsSM (www.perfectpairings.org) is a first-of-its-kind cause-marketing campaign. At its heart is the incomparable taste experience created by food-and-drink pairings crafted by culinary professionals. At its soul is a commitment to raising awareness and funding for food and hunger-related causes. Perfect Pairings’SM initiatives are designed to reach both trade and consumer audiences to raise appreciation, promote quality goods and services, and generate revenue for both the industry and established charities. The Perfect PairingsSM Menu Campaign rolls out in Southern California in 2010.

"Meals-on-Wheels programs touch thousands of lives every day, pairing vital human services with people in need," says Perfect PairingsSM founder Kevin Mark Lodie. "The Menu Campaign was created to generate awareness and funds for these programs by connecting the art of dining with the art of giving.”

Last night Peachy Deegan was so pleased to attend the Perfect Pairings event at Bar Boulud! Four perfect pairings were served to guests including Susan Ungaro, President of the James Beard Foundation and Gael Greene! We also saw our lovely friends from the Serafina Group and made many new friends as well.

On behalf of Perfect PairingsSM and all the participating chefs, we hope you’ll join us and raise a glass and fork in celebration and support of this wonderful cause!
