Sometimes the Best of Manhattan Just Has To Come From Beverly Hills: Whom You Know Kicks off our Coverage of Neil George

Brrrrrrr.  Peachy Deegan is not pleased that the temperatures have dropped in Manhattan!  She is not amused that she is bundling up with her hat and gloves.  Peachy is tired of people asking her if she is from a warm weather state, and seeing their frowns at her lack of tolerance for this colder climate when they find out she is from exotic Connecticut.
Well, Peachy Deegan wants to be a California girl right now and is waxing up her surfboard.  Although she may be bundled up in Manhattan, her hair is looking Beverly Hills now thanks to Neil George.  And we are not surprised at all that this talent is from England; surely you know by NOW that we are Anglophiles here at Whom You Know.  We worship the proper use of the English language and even have a Take a Trip to London column.  But enough about that-we want English hair.
In April 2005, colorist Amanda George and stylist Neil Weisberg joined forces to open Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills.  A blend of Amanda and Neil’s history and vision: British born, London high society salon trained, and California casual chic, the Neil George Salon redefines creativity and excellence in the world of hair artistry. The salon has become the Hollywood hotspot for “A” List celebrities including: Reese Witherspoon, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham, Cameron Diaz, Ryan Phillippe, Renee Zellweger, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Swank and many others.
Neil and Amanda expanded the brand and launched the Neil George Hair Care Collection in October 2008 with retail partnerships including Space NK, Studio at Fred Segal and beauty.com.  The line currently has 10 products and will be adding an additional 7 skus in 2010.  Additional retail partners now include Space NK UK, Beauty 360, C.O. Bigelow, upcoming launch of Aria at City Center in Las Vegas, Viceroy Hotel Group, spalook.com,skinstore.com, Shop NBC and several high end salons and apothecaries throughout the US.  Neil George is also the hotel amenity brand for the Viceroy Hotel Group encompassing the Viceroy, Urban Retreat and Tides brands.
Since opening the salon and launching the hair care collection, Neil George has received national attention in magazines such as Allure, Vogue, W, Elle, InStyle, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky, New Beauty, Cosmopolitan, US Hair, People, Shape, US Weekly, Life & Style, WWD, WWD BeautyBiz, American Way and several others.  Andre Walker, Oprah’s hairdresser for over 2 decades, recently in a oprah.com Q&A listed Neil George along with Fekkai as his favorite hair care products.  Whom You Know has also covered Fekkai.
The Neil George Hair Care Collection is known for the ingredient the Indian Gooseberry.  With approximately 20 times the Vitamin C of an orange, it is like vitamins for your hair.  One of the world’s most powerful antioxidants, it has been used for centuries by women in India to strengthen and hydrate hair.  Neil George has brought this superfruit ingredient to key best in class products such as the Indian Gooseberry Treatment Oil, Intense Illuminating Shampoo and Intense Repair Mask.  You are going to be hearing more about this brand from Peachy Deegan, but it is getting past her bedtime, so check out:
