READ THIS: Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas by Jane O'Connor and Illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser

Peachy Deegan just loves Fancy Nancy!  Check out what we thought of the first of the series.  And what could be better this time of year for every little girl on your Christmas list than Fancy Nancy Splendiforous Christmas?!  The Whom You Know Petite Peachy panel just loves her too:

Jane O'Connor's Fancy Nancy Splendiforous Christmas is an adorable book for young girls.  Fancy Nancy is a delightful little girl who likes to fancy things up, making the simplest things more special.  In this Christmas edition, we find Nancy in all her glory. From picking out and decorating the tree, to making cookies and wrapping presents, she makes even the simplest of traditions seem extravagant.  Like other Fancy Nancy books, though, there's more to the story than a little girl who likes to transform plain into elaborate.  In this story, Nancy's plans for a magnificent Christmas tree are put on hold when she accidentally breaks the piece de resistance - a spinning, flashing, color-changing tree-topper she bought herself.  When her grandfather suggests, "When life gives you cracked eggs, make eggnog," Nancy makes the best of a disappointing situation.  As in all of her books, Nancy is an inspiring character, encouraging all of us to make the most of what we have.  Little girls will love her for her imagination and creativity in making the most mundane things seem extraordinary.  Nancy sums it up best with, "There's no such thing as too much tinsel!"  This holiday book is a great addition to any collection.

This has received many accolades:
#1 New York Times bestseller
USA Today bestseller
Wall Street Journal bestseller
Publishers Weekly bestseller
IndieBound bestseller

In 2005, Fancy Nancy took the world by storm with her fancy tiaras, pink boas and sparkly studded shoes.  Christmas is Fancy Nancy’s favorite time of year. There are presents with elegant wrapping paper, festive decorations, Christmas cookies with sprinkles—and who could forget the tree? Ooh la la! This year, Nancy is especially excited about decorating the Christmas tree. She bought a brand-new sparkly tree topper with her own money. But when things don’t turn out the way Nancy planned, will her Christmas still be splendiferous? In this merriest of stories, Nancy proves that with a little help from her family, once again a little fancying up can go a long, festive way!
With more than 8 million books sold since the series launch in December 2005 and over 175 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, the Fancy Nancy franchise shows no sign of slowing down.  Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser have appeared on The Today Show and on The Martha Stewart Show and have been featured in over 100 daily newspapers.  The Fancy Nancy series has been translated into fourteen languages to date.  In 2008, Fancy Nancy was named the Book Character of the Year by Global License.
