Sporty Peachy: We Pick Chicago to Win Under the Direction of Coach Quenneville! Game One Western Conference Finals Chicago and San Jose Head into the Third Period Tied at 1

40 great minutes have been played in the first two periods!  If you are looking for some excitement in your Sunday, look no further than the 3pm (eastern) game on NBC.  Although those of us in New York are seriously disappointed the Rangers are not participating, the players in this game are on fire, particularly Antti Niemi, goaltender for Chicago.

Nothing has gotten by Niemi since the Demers goal in the first period, and he has 28 saves out of 29 shots to the moment.  Patrick Sharp scored the Chicago goal.  Surely even if you were up until all hours of the night last night the pure exhilaration of this game is keeping you on the edge of your seat sans caffeine.  The forechecking is in overdrive.  The speed of the players is twice that of the regular season, and there will be only one winner in the Shark Tank by the end of the game.  You'll remember Chicago center John Madden from his days in New Jersey as a Devil...

If you have been paying attention to the NHL long enough, you'll think of this as the Clarence Campbell Conference Finals, as opposed to the Prince of Wales (east).  And of course, the coaching is phenomenal.  Joel Quenneville puts the Q in quality and we have been very big fans of his since he was traded to Hartford in the 1983-84 season.  Quenneville won the Stanley Cup as an assistant coach with the Avalanche in 1996.  He also bears a striking resemblance to Tom Selleck, ever since the Magnum PI days.  Whom You Know is picking the Chicago Blackhawks to win this game, this series, and take it all in the Stanley Cup Finals.
