She has been truly charmed...and it is Recycled! We Are Happy to Kick Off Our Coverage of Rumblefish! Whom You Know Highly Recommends the Sea Shell Necklace by Rumblefish

Aside from recycled MPS rings being passed down from generation to generation at Miss Porter's or passed down otherwise, Peachy Deegan has not spent a lot of time in her life thinking about recycled jewelry.  Her eyes have been opened to the Earthy Peachy possibilities in Rock Your Body, and Rumblefish is our current favorite in this category!  The recycled sterling silver sea shell necklace with seahorse and fish clasp will totally Rock Your Body in a simple silver way.  The design is stunning and classic, and the thought that went into this piece is extraordinary.  A summer favorite, the scallop shell will fall perfectly and is just the right length for you yourself to be able to read the back of the shell with an 18 inch chain!  The quote reads "The Oceans serenity heals the soul".  Gold prices are available upon request, and we would probably recommend it in gold too, but we have reviewed the silver.  Whom You Know Highly Recommends the Sea Shell Necklace by Rumblefish.

In 1983 Regan Caton and Betsy Milliken met on an interview for the same job. They were both hired by a New York based costume jewelry company to design their spring line. For three months they worked together designing and creating a stunning line of jewels. A friendship formed and being young and na├»ve the two decided to launch their own designer jewelry company, and in May 1983 with a $500.00 loan, Rumblefish was spawned. By the way if you are wondering about the name Rumblefish, the cult classic by the same name had poster advertisements all over the city. Walking downtown the two spotted a movie poster and at the same time said “Rumblefish, that’s it.”

From the start Rumblefish was a success. The jewelry started showing up in all the major fashion publications. Stores such as Bergdorf Goodmans, Saks, Barney’s, Fred Segal, and other specialty stores were carrying Rumblefish. Celebrities such as Brooke Shields, Biannca Jagger, Bruce Springsteen and Christy Brinkley all wore Rumblefish pieces. Christy Brinkley even called to inform them she was appearing on Johnny Carson and to tune in, as she was wearing a jacket adorned with Rumblefish brooches. The next month Ms. Brinkley ordered the whole collection to bring on her honeymoon.

Rumblefish continued to grow and things were great, it was the 80s how could it not be! Rumblefish was now located in a huge loft in Chelsea, and both Regan and Betsy worked and lived there. In late 1987 a string of unfortunate personal events for the two forced them to shut down operations. Both sadly left Rumblefish behind, and moved on with their lives. Of course as life goes, things got better. They both had many wonderful life experiences; Regan married, and now has two beautiful daughters. She also launched two other accessory companies. Betsy worked in the fine jewelry industry in New York, helping to also launch a successful line of fine jewelry.

Remaining friends all these years they decided to relaunch Rumblefish, as of January 2005. Knowing this to be their true passion, they are excited to continue where they left off and put their creative energies into their dynamic collections.

Rumblefish is dedicated to crafting jewelry in a responsible way using recycled gold and silver as well as conflict free stones. The Signature Collection is made with vintage materials whenever possible. Packaging is recycled when possible and gift items are shipped in keepsake boxes that can be reused. Rumblefish has launched Charmed By A Cause to focus on charms designed specifically for causes, in addition to the existing charms on the website that bring awareness to important issues. 100% of retail profits will benefit these organizations.
