100 WOMEN IN HEDGE FUNDS LONDON GALA RAISES NEARLY £500,000 FOR CENTREPOINT GERALDINE SUNDSTROM HONOURED WITH INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP AWARD

London - October 1, 2010 –100 Women in Hedge Funds ("100WHF"), a leading non-profit organization for professionals in the alternatives industry, is pleased to announce that it has raised nearly £500,000 at its London Gala event that took place last night at the historic Middle Temple Hall. The event was attended by over two hundred leaders from across the hedge fund industry. The net proceeds raised last night will go to support Centrepoint, the leading national charity that works to improve the lives of young homeless people. 100WHF also presented Geraldine Sundstrom of Brevan Howard Asset Management with its 2010 European Industry Leadership Award.

100WHF was honoured to have in attendance HRH Prince William of Wales. Prince William became a Patron of 100 Women in Hedge Fund’s Philanthropic Initiatives in January 2010 and, over the next three years, this partnership will focus on three of Prince William’s Patronages: Centrepoint in 2010, the Child Bereavement Charity in 2011, and Skill Force in 2012.

100WHF has a long track record of supporting charities in the fields of family health, mentoring and education. Since its first gala event in 2002, 100WHF has raised over $17 million globally. This year the organisation is focusing its charitable efforts on supporting mentoring initiatives. Centrepoint has been housing and supporting young people between the ages of 16 and 25 since 1969, and has helped over 70,000 young people to escape homelessness and build new lives. Centrepoint’s mentoring programme is aimed at enhancing the lives of young people by developing their employability skills, building their sense of self-worth and self-esteem and setting goals for the future.

Seyi Obakin, the Chief Executive of Centrepoint, said, "We are delighted to have been chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s 100 Women in Hedge Funds Gala and are grateful to Prince William and the generosity of all who attended the event. This contribution will be a huge benefit to the work Centrepoint is doing in helping to tackle homelessness, as well as help to support our efforts to improve the lives of young people across the country."

During this year’s London Gala, 100WHF presented Geraldine Sundstrom, Partner and Portfolio Manager at Brevan Howard Asset Management, with the 100 Women in Hedge Funds 2010 European Industry Leadership Award. The award, given in recognition of Geraldine’s professional talent and passion for investing, is also a reflection of her commitment to the industry over the last 10years.

Anne Popkin, Chair of the Board of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, commented, "We believe it is crucial to recognise women who have made significant contributions to the alternative investments industry through strong leadership, business ethics and superior investment talent. We are delighted to present this year’s award to Geraldine and are proud of the work she has done in the industry and the professional success she has achieved to date."
