Salon Peachy: The Stars of Mover and Shaker Rodney Cutler Continue to Shine, and this time at the New Cutler Salon at Gansevoort Park!!! Go See Lydia Rivera For Color and Melissa Aguerre For Cut and Styling!!!

Mover and Shaker on Whom You Know, Rodney Cutler, owner of Cutler Salons, brings his ingenious combination of a highly skilled staff and creative vision to the NEW Gansevoort Park, located at the corner of 29th Street and Park Avenue South and Peachy Deegan is pleased to say now she has been there, and we recommend it!  We love love love going to Cutler in every location and it is always exciting to go to a new one.  Lucky hotel guests!  A 249-room urban resort, the Gansevoort Park promises an uptown experience with a downtown vibe, perfectly in line with Cutler’s brand values.   You know Peachy is an uptown girl...We write in silver in honor of the cool color that accents the newest Cutler location!  Liz Smith tells Peachy Deegan she's now a Silver Fox (you know her book was called Naturally Blonde...) and Liz also always inspires us.

Continuing a second partnership with Gansevoort Hotel Group after the Cutler Salon at Gansevoort Miami, Cutler has opened its fourth salon in the country. Situated on the third floor of the hotel’s lobby, the salon features six chairs within Exhale, the mind and body spa, to help guests experience head-to-toe pampering. Whether it’s getting a haircut by the outstandingly talented Melissa Aguerre and color by creative Lydia Rivera, guests are sure to be transported to their own private tranquil oasis in the middle of the bustling city and you should go, and tell them you're there because it's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW.  We have told you for the last year, since our fabulous experience with Movers and Shakers Rodney Cutler and Rachel Bodt that this is the salon to beat, and consistently they are the best performers with the most depth across the board, and in particular Cutler Salon has the strongest stylists anywhere.  Exhale, you are so smart to be working with Cutler...!

Though the temperature is frigid, the calendar tells us that it is spring in Manhattan.  The tulips are coming out on Park Avenue, the fountains are being filled, and Peachy Deegan's hair is now growing in with yellow golden streaks.  (wink, wink!)  They only grow in this way because of the genius that is bred and born at all Cutler locations, and now at the Gansevoort on Park it is not only the Manhattanites that can appreciate this gem of a salon but also the guests of the hotel are treated to this premium salon experience.  And they don't even have to go outside- and in this chilly March weather that is priceless.  First we went to Cutler downtown, then we went to 57th Street, and now that we have gone to their newest location we can verify that all three are superb.

Peachy Deegan's Park Avenue Cutler experience began with a consultation with both Lydia and Melissa together.  This is absolutely crucial as everyone needs to be on the same page right from the start, and Rodney Cutler began this way a year ago with Rachel.  It truly amazes us when we have gone to inferior salons in the last year and this is not done until Peachy Deegan points it out, and then they see the Rodney Cutler wisdom.  Even very good reputable places can overlook this, which is crazy.  We hope you are reading!

So, as we said Peachy's hair is now growing in with blond streaks thanks to the talent of Lydia Rivera, who is very artistic.  If you want a look that is creative and edgy, this is who you should go to.  You know Peachy Deegan has nightmares of ever having any red in her hair and we can assure you Lydia was right on the money with no red!  A foil process was done with Redken color....oooh you know we just LOVE Redken!    Vicktor washed Peachy's hair inbetween and he was fabulously personable.   He is new to Cutler from Mover and Shaker Ruth Roche, whom we also adore.  Ruth did a great job in February 2010 on Peachy and incidentally she works with the Pureology arm of Redken.

Not only was Lydia great at highlights but she was lovely at hiding any stray grays. Though we write this post in gray and it looks great as interior decor at Cutler Park Avenue, it is less flattering on Peachy's head and we are pleased to say Lydia did such a good job that someone this past weekend though Peachy was 18, and she is nearly twice that.  So, Lydia gives quite a youthful look.

Melissa Aguerre was a true gem and this does not surprise us one bit as the hair cutting and styling at Cutler is legendary.  Obviously Rodney Cutler is the best in town, and Jenny Balding is really great, and we'd say Melissa was just as good as Jenny.  Melissa's astute attention to detail and great communication skills ensured that Peachy walked out of there looking like a supermodel.  Peachy's long layers were balanced perfectly by Melissa, who also considered that Peachy can part her hair in many spots.
