DAYLIGHT: CELEBRITIES & VIPS ATTEND THE STAR-STUDDED 10TH ANNUAL WOMEN WHO CARE LUNCHEON BENEFITTING UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY OF NEW YORK CITY A New York Tradition Celebrating the Accomplishments of Extraordinary Women as Caregivers, Volunteers & Professionals

The 10th Annual Women Who Care Luncheon benefitting United Cerebral Palsy of New York City was held this afternoon at Cipriani 42nd Street. The sold-out event celebrated the accomplishments of extraordinary women as caregivers, volunteers and professionals.  Whom You Know was honored to cover this event for the second consecutive year and we salute our Mover and Shaker Loreen Arbus:

Loreen Arbus,Disability Rights Activist/Philthanthropist/Producer, is Founder & Chair of Women Who Care. Ellen Levine, Editorial Director, Hearst Magazines Group is Honorary Chair. Donna Hanover served as Host for the event for the 10th consecutive year. Robin Givens & Paula Zahn are the new Co-Chairs of Women Who Care.  Robin, Peachy loved your purple one-shoulder dress!  We enjoyed meeting you last year while you-know-who was sipping a bellini on the red carpet...

Highlights of this year’s Women Who Care event were presentations by over a dozen Celebrity Presenters:

  • Ivanka Trump presented the Women Who Care Award to Lauren Bush, an upcoming feature on Whom You Know.  We enjoyed meeting her sister Ashley also and you know her mom Sharon is a Mover and Shaker:
  • Michelle Bachelet, Executive Director of U.N. Women & Former President of Chile, presented the Women Who Care Award to Roxanne Mankin Cason.
  • Deborah Norville, Host, Inside Edition, presented the Women Who Care Award to Carolee Friedlander.
  • David Muir, ABC’s Weekend Host, World News Tonight, presented the Women Who Care Award to honoree Petra Nemcova.
  • Robin Givens, Star of the NBC series Chuck & new Co-Chair of Women Who Care, presented the final award of the afternoon, The Karen Hansen Caregiver Award to The Trush Family, Founders of Daniel’s Music Foundation.

Paula Zahn - Co-Chair of Women Who Care & Emmy® Award winning Host of On The Case With Paula Zahn gave opening remarks. Women Who Care was created to honor female role models representing various segments of the community,” said Loreen Arbus, Founder & Chair of Women Who Care. “It honors the memory of my mother, Isabelle Goldenson, who co-founded with my father, Leonard H. Goldenson, Founder/Chairman, ABC, the 5th largest health agency in America. She was responsible for all the groundbreaking ideas in the Architectural Barriers, an Act of Congress enacted by President Johnson in 1968. It also honors Miss Karen Hansen who took care of my older sister from age two, all the years of her life, without ever taking a vacation.”
