Champagne Wishes: Vin Parfait Launches New Line of Boutique Wines for Women

Vin Parfait is launching a new line of fun, sophisticated boutique wines targeting women in their 20s and 30s. The inaugural release includes the 2009 Chardonnay and 2009 Red Wine from California, both retailing for $13.99. The wines arrive on shelves in July 2011.

Vin Parfait, in French “Perfect Wine,” is designed to appeal to busy, fashionable young women, balancing a hectic work and social schedule, who are looking for a tasty glass of wine as a well-deserved treat. Vin Parfait is simply a yummy wine – perfect for sharing with friends or rewarding yourself after a long day. It is a delicious flight of fancy, a guilt-free treat for a busy, fun life well-lived. And that makes it perfect.

The 2009 Vin Parfait Chardonnay comes from selected vineyard sites throughout California’s cool coastal regions, yielding wines with classic Chardonnay characteristics and refreshing acidity. The addition of small amounts of Riesling lends characters of citrus and white peach, while Muscat adds a touch of spice and floral aromas. Clean and crisp on the palate, this wine has flavors of lemon zest, apple and white Bartlett pear, with notes of sweet pure vanilla. The influence of partial malolactic fermentation (75%) lends a creamy, luscious texture to the mouthfeel.

The 2009 Vin Parfait Red Wine is a flavorful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (44%), Zinfandel (26%), Syrah (13%), Petite Sirah (11%) and Merlot (6%). The wine comes from selected vineyard sites throughout California, predominantly Lake County and Paso Robles, where warm days and cool nights provide optimal ripening conditions for these varietals. Cabernet Sauvignon lends flavors of blackberries and boysenberries, which are enhanced by lovely spicy notes from the Syrah and Zinfandel, along with a slight toasty vanilla character from oak aging. This medium-bodied red can be enjoyed slightly chilled, on its own or paired with light summer dishes.
