Consolo & Aquino Secure Cashmere King on Madison

The preeminent retail leasing and sales team of Faith Hope Consolo, Chairman, and Joseph Aquino, Executive Vice President of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group, has arranged a long-term lease for Christopher Fischer Cashmere at 1225 Madison Avenue. Consolo and Aquino, who are responsible for leasing the entire block-front on the east side of Madison Avenue, between 88th and 89th Streets, originally brought the designer to the space for a two-year test period. Since then, the world-renowned "cashmere lifestyle" store has become a favorite among Upper Eastsiders, while continuing to hold sway with a long-established client base that includes Hampton habitués, denizens of downtown chic, Connecticut Yankees and fashionable British Royals.

Christopher Fischer Cashmere and the other desirable stores that share the same Madison Avenue property are situated in the heart of one of Manhattan's most affluent neighborhoods, Carnegie Hill. It is an area that boasts the city’s highest concentration of private schools, as well as many of its most significant museums and cultural institutions. As a result, the avenue boasts a concentration of designer children's wear shops, including newly arrived Brooks Brothers, J. Crew Cuts, Baby Cottons, Jacadi and Bonpoint. Adjoining streets are also occupied by such fashionable businesses as Jack Rogers, Koos and coming soon, Ankasa.

"It was inevitable that Christopher Fischer would thrive here because his collections encompass something for everyone, including mom, dad, baby and home," said Ms. Consolo. "In the States, he was already identified with the Hamptons, Greenwich and Soho, so we initially signed him for a couple years to try out the Upper East Side. And now the proof is in: Christopher Fischer a neighborhood favorite!"

Added Mr. Aquino, "The synergy of the stores is evident along this section of Madison Avenue. People shop for their needs and aspirations here and this is a store that caters to both."

Ms. Consolo and Mr. Aquino exclusively represented both the tenant and landlord in the transaction.
