NIGHTLIGHT: The Icla da Silva Foundation's 19th Fundraising Dinner and Dance - Celebrate Hope a Success at The Roosevelt October 5, 2011

The Icla da Silva Foundation celebrated 19 years fighting leukemia and other diseases treatable by bone marrow transplant last night at the annual fundraising event known as The Icla da Silva Foundation’s 19th Fundraising Dinner and Dance - Celebrate Hope. The event took place on October 5, 2011 at the Grand Ballroom of the new Roosevelt Hotel in NYC, from 6:30pm to 11pm.  Thank you Mover and Shaker Pilar Rossi for introducing us to this great cause.

Over 300 friends and supporters of the Icla da Silva Foundation attended this year's event. The evening began with a cocktail hour featuring a premium full bar highlighted by Roosevelt bartender, Ruben Perez, who exudes extraordinary care and attention to detail, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction that includes special and one-of-a-kind items, and was followed by an elegant sit down dinner.
We were very impressed by the diverse crowd, passionate speakers, testimonials and cuisine.  Volunteers of this organization really care we can tell. The organization caters to children and their families who are dealing with juvenile Leukemia  by seeking bone marrow donors. Please consider donating time or money to this most worthy cause.

The highlight of the event was the meeting between a marrow donor and the former leukemia patient whose life was saved.
