Sotheby's - Important Watches & Clocks - New York, 6 December 2011

Sotheby’s will hold its next auction of Important Watches & Clocks on 6 December 2011 in New York, just in time for the holidays. The sale will present a diverse selection of rare timepieces for both new and seasoned collectors, and has been curated to include some of the finest horological timepieces from the 18th century through the present day.



An impressive group of over 130 pieces by legendary watchmaker Patek Philippe will be led by a recently discoveredReference 96 HU “Heure Universelle” world time wristwatch – one of the earliest and rarest world time watches known to exist (est. $400/600,000).



The timepieces will be on exhibition beginning this Saturday in Sotheby’s York Avenue galleries, alongside the auctions ofMagnificent Jewels and The Elegant John Traina – A Portrait in Style.
