Winter 2012 Home Textiles Market Week Features 600 Suppliers at Five New York City Locations

New York City will host the largest market for home textiles resources in the United States, January 27-February 2, 2012, with Home Textiles Market Week® in New York presenting some 600 bed, bath, linen and home fashion vendors at five venues across New York City: NYIGF at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94; 230 Fifth Avenue; and 7 W New York®.

“Twice a year, buyers converge upon New York City to shop and source an unparalleled range of mid-to-high-end home textiles,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “The market also offers participants a series of expert-led seminars, industry-wide special events, helpful amenities and enticing promotions.”

At NYIGF, At Home featuring Home Textiles at the Javits Center presents some 200 suppliers of bed and bath fashions, such as table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics. Newcomers to this location for winter 2012 include Gitika Goyal (bed and table linens), Home Fabrics (bedding), Indian Designs (home textiles), LuRu Home (home accessories, pillows, table linens), Mia + Finn (home textiles) and Zensilk Inc. (silk bedding), as well as Kashu Sales (decorative home textiles), Mariachi Imports (rugs), and Rennie & Rose (decorative home textiles), all relocating into At Home featuring Home Textiles from other NYIGF divisions.

Several leading home fashions suppliers also will return to At Home featuring Home Textiles this winter, following an absence from the New York Market: Downright LTD (bedding), ecoaccents (pillows), G.K. Fine (draperies, bedding), Serenity Fair (cashmere throws), and Teresa Alecrim (home textiles from Portugal).

In addition, a number of current Home Textiles Market Week participants will expand their exhibit space at NYIGF for the winter 2012 market: Bella Notte (bedding), Brahms Mount (throws), Broderi Narin (table linens), COCOCOZY (pillows and draperies), Peacock Alley (bedding), Pluto (loungewear), Roberta Roller Rabbit (bedding and loungewear), Scents & Feel (throws), SDH (bedding) and V Rugs & Home (pillows).

At 230 Fifth Avenue, five new showroom tenants will make their Home Textiles Market Week debut, including China Fortune (home fashions) and Daniel Bath & Beyond/ Daniel Linen Inc. (kitchen and bath), as well as Jewels/T Salon (tabletop, gifts and tea); SmartWorks Products (As-Seen-On-TV, general merchandise); and 24/7 Empresaria (organic gift baskets). Buyer-focused events and amenities include complimentary breakfast and lunch, promotional giveaways, and showroom receptions.

At the 7 W New York® building, new lines and collections will be presented by several of the of nearly 150 textile-related companies represented among the showrooms, including Gallery On Six, Godinger, Home Essentials, K&K Interiors, Inc., Richard Cohen Collection and SARO. For winter 2012 new and expanded showrooms include Apache Mills (bedding, home accessories), Berkshire Blanket (bedding, blankets), Linens N Essentials (bedding, home accessories), Louisville Bedding (bedding), Phoenix Home (bedding, blankets), Sam Salem & Son (bedding, blankets) and others. 

Don’t miss 7 W and their new striking lobby displays with events, as well as showroom specials, product launches, live music, complimentary lunch vouchers, extended shopping hours and promotions running throughout the building during Home Textiles Market Week. 

A series of educational seminars and networking events will supplement Home Textiles Market Week activities. At the Javits Center, a series of seminars presented by trade and consumer publications, as well as industry associations, will address online and electronic business opportunities, sustainability and business strategies. On Monday, January 30, New York City’s International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) will host Color: From Theory to Selection, an exploration of color theory and its practical applications.

Through the cooperation of NYIGF, 230 Fifth Avenue and 7 W New York, Home Textiles Market Week participants can enjoy free admission to The Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) from January 27 – February 2, upon presentation of a winter 2012 Market Week badge. Other Market Week social events will include Gift For Life’s 20th Anniversary "Party for Life" Fundraiser on Sunday, January 29, and NYIGF’s “A Night on Broadway” featuring specially-priced tickets to ROCK OF AGES on Monday, January 30. On Saturday, January 28, NYIGF’s At Home at Pier 94 welcome reception celebrates the market’s opening day. Select suppliers will receive “Best New Product” Awards during Home Textiles Market Week. Awards will recognize excellence in four categories – Bath, Bed, Dining and Home Accessories – along with one overall “Best of Market distinction. Judging will be conducted by a panel of trade and consumer editors on Monday, January 30, within NYIGF’s At Home featuring Home Textiles at the Javits Center.
