"Eloise Skates" details Eloise's and Nanny's trip to the skating rink. The book opens with Eloise stating that winter is boring. That is, until Nanny announces that they will be going to the skating rink! Then things begin to look up! Eloise and Weenie (her dog) don their winter best (hats, coats, gloves and...leg warmers...for them both!) and head out to brave the cold. Once at the rink, Eloise takes over, spinning and gliding and ends up in the arms of a policeman! This had my preschooler cracking up! Oh, Eloise, we love, love, love you!

Who loves Eloise? My classroom does! We can't get enough of her. When my class saw Eloise Skates, I had several students who wanted to tell me about their skating adventures. They laughed while I read this book aloud and wanted to hear it over and over again. I love bringing Eloise into my class because I know she gets my students excited about reading.

Eloise is gliding her way into the hearts of your girls everywhere. With Simon & Schuster’s fabulous Ready-to-Read Series, girls are inspired to read and entertained as well. Eloise fights the blues of boredom in this adorable tale. Spending the day skating at Rockefeller Center has turned Winter into a wonderful season. Spinning and flying through the air, Eloise causes her usual raucous. An incredible passion for life is shown through the eyes of this Six Year old on ice.

I find it helps my little one, as she learns to read, to find subjects that hit close to home. As a family, we love to go ice skating and we love, love, love Eloise! What could be a better way to learn to read in the level 1 reader, Eloise Skates! Of course Eloise's skills (yikes)
with her twirling are our favorite here! The illustrations by Tammie Lyon and story by Lisa McClatchy are spot on. This ready to read is a need to read.

Eloise Skates is one of the best books for those early readers. As a kid I loved these books! I love the way the story comes to life. Eloise Skates takes us on an adventure with Eloise in the ice rink. The book can engage anyone of any age. I also love how it brings back my childhood memories.
