It's a Champagne Wishes Daylight:The Manhattan Cocktail Classic May 13, 2012

Yesterday, Whom You Know was pleased to partake in The Manhattan Cocktail Classic. Our favorite part was seeing Dave Arnold, who has taught us one of the best cocktail stories we've ever heard with the mellow lobsters:

We chatted about it at this cocktail party with Jacques Pepin:

Unfortunately it looked like the lobsters were not up for the cocktails but we met some new brands we hope to consider for review.

Dave worked with Oxley, London Dry Gin. As you know, Peachy Deegan has a cocktail named after her and her cousin Andy Deegan's favorite is GIN, so maybe we can make one after him with this...

We absolutely love American brands that are impressive; check out our column:

Mat Garretson was a pleasure to meet from this American Brand, High West:

The second and 11th floors of Andaz were used for this event.

Their site tells us:

About the Manhattan Cocktail Classic

Part festival, part fête, part conference, part cocktail party – the Manhattan Cocktail Classic is an annual celebration of the myriad points of intersection between cocktails and culture. With over one hundred events spread across five days and five boroughs, the Manhattan Cocktail Classic offers a vast array of unique experiences to enthusiasts and professionals alike, expanding the very definition of what constitutes a “cocktail event".

If you're unfamiliar with the Classic and are looking to get your bearings, start by taking a spin through the FAQ. From there, you may want to peruse some of the fabulous news coverage, or (if you're not so keen on reading) flip through some photos from last year's festival. Or, if you've read plenty already and just want to find out how to get involved, head on over to the contact page to get the ball rolling.
