DAYLIGHT: August 2012 NYIGF at the Javits in New York Has Given Us So Many Good New Ideas! Whom You Know Saw 22 miles of it!

Cathy Steel must be one of the most organized people in the world to constantly pull off such a monster of a trade show! And, she must know an awful lot of people too...Drawing 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and 80+ countries, the NYIGF is produced twice annually by GLM Shows and is open to the trade only. Held in January and August in New York City, the Fair hosts 2,800 exhibiting companies showcasing the very best lines across the home, lifestyle and gift spectrum. With 2,800+ exhibitors, quantity seems to be the focus and we are thrilled when we find our it factor which is of course quality, particularly if it is made in America. We really like how there is a section for new brands.  What is a gift?  To us, a gift could be a pair of shoes, a bottle of perfume, a dinner, the list is endless and generally our columns are far more specified so the generality of this trade show requires a lot of private analytics! Our favorites included Maine Woolens, Lothanique, Beba Bean and Stephanie Johnson. We look forward to featuring the very best run by the most intelligent people by review in upcoming posts.   We even found a Laudable Look:
