“A House in the Woods” is a cute tale about friendships between pigs, a moose and a Bear. It also teaches you that some things happen for a reason and you must role with the punches. As both Pigs houses were mangled by their new roommates, they get a bigger and brighter idea. To the rescue comes the Builder Beavers to build them their dream home that will fit all four of them. And the cost Just six plates of peanut butter sandwiches…Endearing, adorable and beautifully illustrated with pencil, pastels and wash. So enjoy this with the kids who will appreciate the upbeat vibe of this happy ending tale.

I cannot believe I've never heard of this wonderful book before. A House in the Woods has instantly become one of my must-reads to my class. This book shows how different animals can live together without being mean to one another. This is a great book to start the beginning of the year. It can help me teach about community and being accepting of each other despite our differences. This book showcases each animals strengths and how they contributed to building the house. I already know how I'm going to use this book as a project to help my students understand how they can help contribute to our classroom with their strengths. I can't wait!

A House in the Woods is such an adorable book. The story is one of animals learning to live together in peace. I think that not only does this book give a wonderful moral story but in general the story is simple and brilliant. I love the friendships and compassion that is shown in this book. It teaches children how to have open hearts and minds. The illustrations are just beautiful. Honestly, I love the book and couldn't put it down! Give it as a gift and watch these children's eyes light up.

Have you ever read a story to your child and known right off the bat it would become a "keeper"? That is how I felt about Inga Moore's "A House in the Woods". With comforting, relaxing artwork and a sweet, enjoyable tale, this book is most definitely a "keeper" for us! A story of friendship, teamwork and dedication, "A House in the Woods" is one you'll want to read over and over again. My five year old son laughed (he loved the beavers with their tools and hardhats), asked questions and upon finishing it, immediately asked me to "read it again"! It's the perfect story for bedtime as the book closes with the animals going to bed themselves. The artwork is so soothing and the pace of the story winds down...just...in...time...for.
..sleep. We adore this book and you will too.

One little pig has made a little den for herself in the woods, and another little pig has a small hut next door. One morning they return from a walk to find that their big friend Bear has moved into the den and an even larger Moose into the hut. CRASH! With both homes collapsed, they’re all in a pickle--but what if they find a way to build a house in the woods that all four of them can share? With lush, whimsically detailed illustrations and a cast of endearing, industrious (and most accommodating!) characters, Inga Moore constructs an inviting story of friendship that kids will be happy to visit awhile.
It’s nice to have your friends move in, but. . . . A sweet, wry tale of cooperation and camaraderie, told with pastoral artwork by Inga Moore.
