“Interrupting Chicken” is a cute story about Papa trying to settle down his child for bed. As most parents do, they read their child books to calm them down and get them ready for sleep. However, Chicken has other ideas. Chicken just can’t quite sit tight and just listen. With such great stories, Chicken could not keep from jumping in and saving the day. But when the tables are turned and Chicken must tell a story to dad she learns what the outcome should be. So laugh and giggle through this book with your little one.

Interrupting Chicken has to be one of my all time favorite picture books. It never fails, every time I read this book, I laugh hysterically. I also love that it helps teach children about social skills. Being an elementary teacher, I've found that many students struggle with this concept. I've used this book before to help teach my students about listening and waiting your turn to talk. After using this book with a small group of students, I've found many of them returning to this book time and time again. Every single time I've used it, it manages to walk away. I hope it doesn't walk away this year!

Interrupting Chicken is such a cute story. This is one of the best bed time reads. These cute characters make me laugh. I cannot put the book down until I am done reading it. It's great too because it is a quick read. These Chickens teach your little one about manners in a fun and cute way. The illustrations bring the story life. This is a must have in every child's library.

David Ezra Stein's "Interrupting Chicken" is fabulous! I truly don't know who enjoyed it more, me or my son. A New York Times Bestseller, this is the story of Little Red Chicken and her Papa. The story begins with Papa reading a bedtime story to Little Red Chicken, "You're not going to interrupt the story tonight, are you?" he asks. And so it begins. Little Red Chicken just can't help herself! She gets so excited about the stories her Papa is reading to her, that she can't help interjecting and interrupting! My son and I loved this book and laughed our way through reading it together! The illustrations, also by David Ezra Stein, are fantastic...colorful and bold. We love this book and know you will too!

It’s time for the little red chicken’s bedtime story --and a reminder from Papa to try not to interrupt. But the chicken can’t help herself! Whether the tale is HANSEL AND GRETEL or LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD or even CHICKEN LITTLE, she jumps into the story to save its hapless characters from doing some dangerous or silly thing. Now it’s the little red chicken’s turn to tell a story, but will her yawning papa make it to the end without his own kind of interrupting? Energetically illustrated with glowing colors --and offering humorous story-within-a-story views --this all-too-familiar tale is sure to amuse (and hold the attention of ) spirited little chicks. A favorite joke inspires this charming tale, in which a little chicken’s habit of interrupting bedtime stories is gleefully turned on its head.
