Highlights from Sotheby's Paris Sale of The Andre Meyer Collection of Music on View in the New York Headquarters Next Week

A traveling exhibition of highlights from Sotheby’s upcoming Paris sale of The André Meyer Collection of Music, the most important private collection of printed musical scores in private hands in Europe, will be on display in our New York headquarters from Monday 24 – Friday 28 September 2012. The auction itself will be in Paris on 16 - 17 October.

Highlights on display include:
Ludwig van Beethoven, Autograph sketch leaf of studies and sketches for piano; the manuscript was once owned by Frederic Chopin with autograph dedication signed by the collector Aloys Fuchs (Est. €100/150,000, above)
Johann Sebastian Bach, Clavir-Ubung, first edition, 1731, first complete edition of the six partitas for keyboard, BWV 825-830 (Est. €80/120,000)
Arnold Schoenberg, String Quartet Op.10 (Est. €100/150,000)
Wolfgang-Amadeus Mozart, Six Sonates Op.II [K.376, 296, 377-380], first edition, 1781 (Est. €1.5/2,000)
Antonio Vivaldi, L'Estro Armonico, Op.3, 1712 (Est. €8/10,000)
