THE BRITISH COLLECTION – AN EXHIBITION OF BRITISH ART AND ANTIQUES AT BONHAMS FROM 24TH TO 28TH SEPT

This year of 2012 has been a great one for celebrating Britain. Between the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, our rich and varied island has been visited, viewed from afar, reported on and read about all over the world. Now Bonhams is offering a four day exhibition that celebrates this heritage across a range of artistic disciplines.

From rolling hills to royal pageantry, curries to cutting-edge fashion, Britishness, in its many quirks and contradictions, has taken pride of place on the global stage this summer.

This September Bonhams is uniquely positioned to celebrate Britain in all its diversity and charm, having more specialist departments covering more aspects of fine art and antiques than any other auction house. In The British Collection, our cross-departmental exhibition, we bring together British highlights from across our autumn sales, spanning media, movements and centuries and charting the many different visions and versions of what makes Britain ‘Great’.

On display will be a selection of works including these:
