he Fête was at Longchamp’s Maison Unique on Madison Avenue and 63rd Street, and guests previewed the label’s fall “More is More” fashion line while listening to live jazz and enjoying cocktails.
American Friends of the Louvre (AFL) is a tax exempt charity organized in the United States that was founded to strengthen ties between the Louvre and the American public and to formalize the longstanding generosity of American patrons. Founded in 2002, its offices opened in New York in 2004. Through its support, AFL raises awareness of the Louvre’s collections and museum expertise and helps make the Museum’s exhibitions and permanent collections more accessible in the U.S. and around the world.
AFL is dedicated to furthering the Louvre’s mission through an active grant-making program. To date, more than $16 million has been committed to benefit the Louvre’s eight curatorial departments as well as the Education Department and Auditorium. Initiatives supported range from scholarly research to gallery renovations and also include contemporary art installations, restorations and acquisitions.
We believe this is an organization to partake in and we encourage you to keep an eye on this relatively new 501c3!
