Salon Peachy: The Cutler Salon Gets Peachy Deegan's Natural Shade Just Right for Winter 2013! Bravo Gaby Bowen, Maven of Color!!!

It has been a pretty big week here at Whom You Know.  Last Friday, Whom You Know turned 4 and we were thrilled to be part of The Rita Cosby Show that day. (Click that previous sentence to listen to the podcast!)  When you listen to the podcast, you hear Peachy Deegan say the very first thing she did to celebrate the anniversary was to go to The Cutler Salon!  (Then she celebrated the 40 year kickoff with the New York Landmarks Conservancy-see her with Liz Smith above.  She was in such a hurry to get there she didn't have time to take her picture at Cutler...and then we worked with Paramount Pictures on Hansel & Gretel later that evening.)  You'll remember in December's Edition of Salon Peachy, Peachy returned to her natural color.  She was so tired of the highlights and wanted her genuine shade.  This time, colorist to the stars Gaby Bowen continued to shine, and make sure Peachy's hair did too!

"I think we should make it on the ashier side so we don't have to worry about it fading into red [red hair is Peachy's worst nightmare]," said Gaby early on during the essential consultation which always happens, because The Cutler Salon is all about getting it right.  "We'll put a little bit more of that control pigment in there."  And she did.  "We're doing an ashy single process by Redken and with the glaze, we'll use something with ash as well so we control the warmth.  I'm using a level 8 on the ends and on the roots, level 5.  It will be darker but better to hide the red.  When you go lighter you expose underlying pigments so it ends up showing red....[and we will hide that with this process.]"

Gaby proceeded to mix up a cocktail of color and started to color the silver spots - otherwise known as the resistant spots.  Gaby is careful to notice all aspects including noting how hair color fades when you first arrive before she starts to work.  She'll look through your hair's different layers and evaluate the graduated color so she can anticipate how your hair will specifically react to the exact hair color choices she makes to achieve the look you desire.  Gaby uses a product board that keeps everything clean and enables her to properly saturate your hair with color and work neatly.  Lowlights are properly colored using this tool...and after a lot of work by Gaby with her eagle eye, Peachy was magically back to her natural color!  Bravo Cutler.  You continue to show us why you are the best.
