London Fashion Week Day 1: The Shows, The Events & The Latest News

120 ready-to-wear and accessory designers at The Exhibition at London Fashion Week. 



BFC Fash/On Film sponsored by River Island launches tonight with a film screening at Somerset House. Three emerging designers have been awarded Fash/On Film support including My Crazy Scrunchie, Leutton Postle and Fred Butler. Their films will be previewed at the launch, alongside a film made by Georgina Hardinge for River Island (trailer above). 




This morning, the Chairman and CEO of the British Fashion Council, Natalie Massenet and Caroline Rush officially opened London Fashion Week AW13 alongside Minister for the Creative Industries, Ed Vaizey. They outlined the BFC’s new three year strategy and plans to commission a report on Manufacturing and Textiles for the UK that will outline the opportunities that the sector can take forward.
