LANVIN

Redken Creative Consultant Guido kicked off Fall 2013 Fashion Week in Paris by creating two beautiful styles at the Nina Ricci and Lanvin shows. Both looks stayed true to the DNA of the individual brands themselves - which is what Guido says is most often his inspiration, as opposed to an actress or a time period. Guido strove to create hair for the kind of woman each designer defines - in the case of Nina Ricci, the ballerina-like hairstyles were were fittingly feminine, and the not-too-perfect downtown-chic pony was contemporary enough to keep up with the complexity of the different looks and textures for the 'modern woman' the Lanvin Fall 2013 collection was designed for.

for added strength and shine.
to damp hair and blow dry hair with aboar bristle brush, lifting at roots for extra height.
Gather hair back into a high ponytail - smooth hair with brush to remove any bumps or frizz.
Twist the hair and wrap around the ponytail creating a bun like shape, and secure with pins.
Add a 2-3 inch headband towards the front of the hairline and just covering the tops of the ears.
Finish the look with Redken fashion work 12 versatile working spray to keep hair in place.
"This look was very feminine, and very dancer-like with the addition of the headband. I blow-dried with guts 10 for all over volume, and I wanted to keep it very soft-looking at the top and the chignon high enough so that it peaks up a little bit above the headband when seen from straight on. It's a little bit 1950's, and ballerina inspired."

Create the Look - Lanvin:

(launches MAY 1) to models with damp hair and blow dried with fingers. He wanted it to look natural and a little messy, but with high shine. He then created a deep "not too perfect" side part and gathered hair into a low pony, securing with an elastic. Guido then finished with bothRedkenshine flash 02 glistening mistfor extra gloss without the grease and plenty of his favorite Redken forceful 23 super strength finishing sprayfor hold and extra shine.

"It's a sexy, simple 'shine-drenched' pony that avoids any kind of 'uptown' done-up look and really fits with the collection. It's rare now that a big designer has an actress or a specific inspiration in mind - this is very in line with the DNA of the brand, he [designer Alber Elbaz] didn't want it to look too bourgeois, he wanted to seem as if she'd done it herself. With the beautiful clothes and the dark smoky eye makeup it's overall very chic but a little punk, a very cool girl - a modern style."
