Novelist Heather Graham is a master of the thriller genre, and she's knocked it out of the park again with Deadly Night, which is part of her Flynn Brothers Trilogy. Set in New Orleans, Deadly Night tells the tale of Aidan Flynn, a private investigator, who, along with his brothers Jeremy and Zach, has inherited an old New Orleans plantation from their aunt, Amelia Flynn - an aunt they'd never even known existed, until they received a call from the lawyer handling her estate. Tales of the mansion being haunted by ghosts from the Civil War days had long been circulated in the area, and when Aidan discovers a human bone on the property, and another by the river, he begins to wonder if there isn't another, contemporary, evil force at work. Amelia's longtime friend and aide, Kendall Montgomery, a tarot card reader, is on hand to greet the brothers when they arrive at the plantation for the first time, and together Kendall and Aidan delve deeper into the secrets of the plantation - and the secrets of the current dark force at work in New Orleans. Things become more urgent when it becomes clear that, unless they solve the mystery, they are destined to join the unlucky departed. Alliances are questioned, friendships are doubted, and supernatural forces lend a hand as this captivating thriller unfolds. A fascinating and exciting read - and yet another winner from the fabulous Heather Graham!

One of the Flynn Brothers Trilogy, and introduced me to the contemporary generation of these intrepid siblings. Their forbears fought in the War between the States, and Ms. Graham unites generations in this page-turner. It's a ghost story fueled by a serial killer hunted by a musician lead by a psychic in denial. Get the drift? It's a plot that literally thickens ( it's the fog, really) as you fall in love with the ambiance and this merry band of brothers. Ms. Graham has a knack for the quick and easy, the facile read, and the Irish element in her works. They beguile, and intrigue, as much as her plots lead us into those innocuous, sometimes fearful places. I'll be looking for more of her books now, and enjoying everyone I can get my hands on. They're great for downtime, and fun reads.

There are so many genres of books that are more appealing to read during the Summer. Mysteries that have a little bit of scare and lot of page turning is exactly what my summer brain craves. Heather Graham’s Deadly Night is the perfect indulgence for an easy and fast summer read. Set in New Orleans, the first of the Flynn Brothers trilogy has plenty to offer. Great sex and mystery teamed up with a serial killer and some freaky supernatural phenomena’s make for the perfect time spent. So unwind and get wound up following the strange relationship of a PI and a Psychic. Nothing is what it seems and with a non-predictable ending you are left fully satisfied!
