Sotheby’s Announces the Appointment of Nanne Dekking

Sotheby’s is delighted to announce the appointment of Nanne Dekking as Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman, Americas. Nanne joins Sotheby’s from Wildenstein & Co., one of the foremost art dealers in the world, where he spent the last 11 years of his distinguished career. During this period, Nanne discreetly executed some of the most significant private transitions in the marketplace. Based at Sotheby’s in New York, Nanne will work closely with senior management on key initiatives, including collaborating with Sotheby’s global private sale teams in New York, London and Hong Kong, as well as the network of executives responsible for business development and client relationships.

After obtaining a Master’s degree in Art and Archeology from the University of Amsterdam, Nanne became Assistant Curator of the Historical Collections Department at the House of Orange-Nassau of HM The Queen of the Netherlands, in The Hague, and spent time as project manager at D’Arts, the leading Dutch organization of art history consultants. Prior to moving to New York and joining Wildenstein & Co., Nanne served as the Deputy Director of the Dutch National Ballet, as a member of the company’s management team.
