Sixth Season of Caps Red Line to Debut on November 19, 2013 on Monumental Network Three-time Emmy-award winning program to be broadcast on NHL Network-US beginning November 24, 2013


Caps Red Line (CRL) presented by GEICO will debut its sixth season on Monumental Network (MonumentalNetwork.com) on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m.



CRL is a fast-paced, behind-the-scenes look at the Washington Capitals. New episodes will air on select Tuesdays on Monumental Network at 2 p.m. through April 1. Each episode will also be replayed on NHL Network-US beginning Sunday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m.



Capitals alumnus Alan May will join CRL as host this season. May played for the Capitals from 1989-1994 and currently serves as a hockey analyst for Comcast SportsNet. Returning to the show are Elliot Segal from DC101’s Elliot in the Morning, Professor Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D., and Capitals forward, “Professor” Troy Brouwer.



The season premiere features fan favorite “Cruisin’ presented by GEICO with Caps alumnus Brendan Witt, Forces of Hockey presented by Inova Blood Donor Services hosted by Prof. Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D. and “Professor” Troy Brouwer, Elliot’s Take with Elliot Segal from Elliot in the Morning and X’s and O’s presented by Pepsi featuring new host Alan May breaking down the success of the Joel Ward-Jason Chimera-Mikhail Grabovski line. 



Returning this season to CRL is the segment “The Season.” This year CRL will follow defenseman Steven Oleksy and forward Tom Wilson as they continue adapting to life in the NHL.CRL also will debut the new segment “RMNB on CRL.” Contributors from the Capitals fan blog “Russian Machine Never Breaks” will bring their view of Caps hockey to the show.



CRL won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Program Achievement for Sports – Programming Series, by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS-NCCB) in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Take a ride with Caps alum Brendan Witt as he returns to Washington, D.C., for the first time since he retired from the NHL. Witt discusses his relationship with fellow alumni and current Caps coaches Adam Oates, Calle Johansson and Olie Kolzig. He also details his new life in Montana surrounded by wildlife. 



X’s and O’s presented by Pepsi

New host Alan May breaks down the success of the Jason Chimera-Joel Ward-Mikhail Grabovski line.



Monumental Network’s All Access

Alan May takes viewers to the Alumni Hockey Game as several popular former Capitals players return to the ice. 



Forces of Hockey presented by Inova Blood Donor Services

Hosted by Professor Lou Bloomfield, Ph.D. and “Professor” Troy Brouwer

Professor Lou and Professor Brouwer discuss the importance of ‘stick flex’ and how what stick a player selects has an effect on his individual style of play.



Elliot’s Take On…

Hosted by Elliot of DC 101’s Elliot in the Morning

Elliot Segal, host of Elliot in the Morning, gives an insider’s look at a unique cooking competition from the Capitals Convention with defenseman Mike Green. The challenge: make the most gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.
