There aren't too many restaurants that have been around since 1904, and from memory we believe the only older ones we've reviewed are Delmonico's in New York and Durgin Park in Boston.  Hugo Alonso, the current owner, has been at Lanza's since 1992 and we look forward to hearing more of the Lanza's story.  We began with a fresh house salad that was fresh and proved that less is more.  They listened and put the dressing on the side and this was a fantastic start.

The Eggplant Parmigiana is simply exquisite from the expertly sliced thin eggplant to the delectable sauce to the cheese to please and we rejoiced in every delicious bite.  Above is how it arrived, however it was enhanced below.
CHEESE enhances everything!
For our pasta course we often choose Fettuccine Alfredo, because guess who loves it.  At Lanza's they kick it up a notch by adding salmon which is absolutely innovative at such an established institution.  Fettuccine Con Salmone is fettuccine in a light cream sauce with fresh and smoked salmon.  Just divine!

Fish is good for you, and it's even better when you have it with vegetables.  Know that you can eat delicious food that is ALSO nutritious.  Salmon Grosseto was our entree of choice and the fresh filet of salmon sauteed with sweet pepper, mushrooms and cream was just amazing!
  Lanza's is Terrific Takeout!
