It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we are so glad to know Paul Da Tommaso, owner and founder of Da Tommaso.  He is one of the greatest.  Da Tommaso earned a spot in Peachy's Picks in 2012:
and it remains one of our favorites and has been one of the most consistent performers of excellence throughout the years.
Da Tommasso was last featured a year ago:
We were first enlightened this visit with the fresh bright colors of the Peperoni Con Acciughe.
Lovely caper accents dotted the roast peppers and anchovies that have a kick of nutritious flavor.  This is on the lighter side to balance out the spectacular pasta.
The hot appetizer we selected is another Italian classic: Gamberi Alla Arancia that boasts great flavor.  The rolled shrimp in prosciutto pronounces delicious exquisitely.  The light orange sauce is a lovely and original accent.  The understated elegance overall at Da Tommasso continues to be impressive.
Da Tommaso has one of the best green salads in all of Manhattan and we really look forward to it.
There are four salad selections and the Paesana jumped out at us!
Their mixed chopped special house salad is absolute perfection from the perfectly chopped tomatoes to the endives that radiate out of it.  The chunks of mozzarella will brighten your day and even if you are Ms. I Do Not Eat Chicpeas you will like them in this.  Also, the onions are perfect.  Sometimes people have onion slices that are too big or too small and we notice.  Goldilocks Peachy says these are just right.
How does Tortellini Gratinata get even better? With more cheese on top! This is one of Peachy's most favorite dishes anywhere in all of Manhattan and you have to try it.  Baked in cream and parmesean cheese, these bastions of decadence will make all your pasta dreams come true.
You should order two of them-one to take home because you will miss it once it is gone.
Pasta perfection.
Because we like to expand our horizons, we also tried the Linguette Ortolane which arrives in fragrant excellence.  The fresh broccoli and zucchini are simply smashing inbetween the fabulous pasta and cheese and are healthier than the above if you are watching your waistline.
The Sogliola Al Limone is terrific at Da Tommaso!  If you think Filet of Sole is not that exciting clearly you haven't had it here.  The lemon accent is another aspect of Da Tommaso that is absolutely just right and their total finesse with ingredients and presentation is evidenced by the fact that they've been around since 1988 in the most competitive restaurant market in the world.
If it could hold a pen, this fish would sign autographs.
Not only is it gorgeous, dahling, but it is also delicious.
Our pictures speak the truth and they are never edited.
If you are more of a meat eater, we suggest the amazing Scaloppine Di Vitello Al Marsala.  Ms. I Do Not Like Very Many Sauces At All just adored the phenomenal marsala wine sauce and the veal, which was perfectly sauteed.  Note how many times you see the word perfect in this review.  The wilted spinach and roasted potato were also delicious and this is the definition of dinner.
Da Tomasso continues to be Highly Recommended!

Do not miss their spectacular IRISH coffee! It will keep you going during your holiday errands...
