A+E NETWORKS ELEVATES SEAN MURTAGH TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE

A+E Networks has promoted Sean Murtagh to Senior Vice President, Finance. The announcement was made today by Arthur Vomvas, Executive Vice President of Finance and Planning, A+E Networks, to whom Murtagh will continue to report. 

In his new role, Murtagh will oversee financial planning and analysis for A&E®, HISTORY®, Lifetime®, Lifetime Movies® and FYI™. In addition, Murtagh will oversee A+E Studios and marketing, working closely with each division’s teams to support them in their roles overseeing the studio, brands and marketing divisions.

“Over the past several years, the brand’s creative structure and business leadership has been streamlined, and this new structure allows financial planning to continue to support creative decisions, deal making and strategies,” said Vomvas. “With Sean’s wealth of experience and analytical insights, improved communication and coordination led by him and carried out through his supporting teams, will allow us to develop cohesive financial plans across all A+E brands and divisions. I look forward to seeing how their financial guidance will help lead to our future success.”

Murtagh was previously VP, Finance for A+E Networks, and before that, served as Group Vice President, Finance for Time Warner Cable Media. Prior to that, he worked at Turner Broadcasting in senior finance roles supporting CNN, HLN and TruTV. Earlier in his career, Murtagh worked in public accounting. He is a CPA and received his undergraduate degree from the University at Albany and his MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
