Befriend the lobster roll!
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we are delighted to know GM Jack Makosa of The Shadmoor, and this visit it was lovely to work with manager Panos Mastrokalos.  From the moment you arrive, you will see they agree that details matter from the properly sliced lemon to the fantastic Duke of Earl song, infrequently heard at other dinners much to our dismay.  Surf is up 365 days a year at The Shadmoor and it's one of the best places to get in the swing of spring.  It is one of the NEWEST Peachy's Picks.
The Shadmoor was selected as a Peachy's Pick in 2018:
It was most recently featured this past winter:
For the table, the Cucumber Dill Yogurt is a great start and a beacon of refreshment for you to share.  Lowfat yogurt, diced cucumber, chopped dill and scallions form a superb dip for your crudites and your pita to pounce in.  A brand new appetizer are the Sweet Chili Shrimps that line up three in a row:

Seasonally relevant, these petite winners are emblazoned with sliced oranges, avocado, sweet chili sauce and sesame seaweed salad to amalgamate in an inviting concoction of flavors that meld well.  The shrimp is entirely fresh, and it's ideal seasonal refreshment.  Put these on your list to try of new seasonal items in Manhattan.

From every angle, the Shadmoor Salad continues to thrive.
We do not tell you when we go back somewhere and something is NOT as good as we remember.  You might assume that if we stop talking about an item.  The Shadmoor Salad is among the best salads this spring anywhere in Manhattan and it boasts tomatoes, red onions, bell peppers, olives, radish, chickpeas, croutons, avocado and grilled halloumi cheese, accentuated with evoo.  The combination and proportion of each item is stellar and this will brighten all of your Shadmoor dinners.   It is worthy of being named their signature salad.
A new salad is the watermelon salad!

This is the only snow you see in Manhattan now: the goat cheese!
Seedless (which is key: no seeds) watermelon, cashew nuts, cucumber and strawberry dressing, which we adored, say it is absolutely time to hang ten and put on your virtual bikini.  It's a seasonal triumph.

Does your lobster roll smile like this!
We applaud the new edition of the Lobster Roll entree, and you must order it.  The lobster meat is obviously the star of this show, and it is perfectly dressed in chopped celery, spicy mayo, and fantastic lemon dill sauce.  You have a choice of a salad or fries to go with it, and we opted for the green salad.

We are huge advocates of vegetable sides, and want to see more talent on menus overall in this section to meet health goals!  Remember every time we see kale we have to tell Dr. Oz and Richie.  At The Shadmoor, we were impressed with the Sauteed broccoli and cauliflower above, and the Grilled Vegetables: zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant and roasted pepper, below.  Both exemplify simplicity done well, and are a huge plus to your dinner regardless of your entree.

Finally, our carnivorous endeavor in the entree world at The Shadmoor was the classic Surf Burger, crafted with local black angus from the Hudson Valley delivered three times a week.  Grass Fed Beef makes for a great presentation with cheddar and fries (you could choose a salad instead) and tomato, pickled cucumbers, caramelized onion and lemon mayo mustard put The Shadmoor signature on the American burger.

We look forward to seeing what they do next, particularly Al Fresco as they were among the most impressive outside last  year.

The Shadmoor continues to be Recommended by Whom You Know.
