The Manicotti still reigns supreme at Patsy's!

Last month, Whom You Know turned 11 and since inception, we have reviewed Manhattan restaurants.  As the business climate has drastically changed with what has happened to City Hall and rising rents, independent Manhattan restaurants have become rarer and rarer.  However, Patsy's has endured thanks to the phenomenal dedication of Patsy's grandson, Sal Scognamillo, Executive Chef and Owner of Patsy's Italian Restaurant, THE ONE AND ONLY.
Patsy's joined Peachy's Picks in 2013:
It was last featured a year ago:
We hadn't visited in ages, nearly a year!
We began with the House Salad, a classic, and they listened and put the dressing on the side.
Mixed greens are joined by olives, tomatoes, sliced beets, celery and cucumbers and their cumulative flavor is heightened with a lovely balsamic viniagrette.

Above, an appetizer we selected was a special: Asparagus Wraps.
Sauteed asparagus and a trifecta of winning cheeses (most famous on Whom You Know for being in the manicotti): mozzarella, ricotta and Parmigiano-Reggiano are wrapped with prosciutto and served with fresh tomatoes and a lovely marinara.  It completely hits the spot on a cold day!  Sal suggested we try the Hollander mussels which are sauteed with evoo, fresh garlic, basil and white wine.  Their heartiness is nicely balanced with a knockout simplistic flavor that will wow you!

If you've read us at all, you know that Peachy's favorite menu item at Patsy's is undoubtedly the MANICOTTI.  She worships it.  It silences her.  You will revel in its excellence of mozzarella, ricotta and Parmigiano-Reggiano served with a tomato basil sauce of perfection.  It doesn't get any better than this, and it earns high marks for consistency as well.
That is always our red pasta!
The Fettuccine Alfredo is a lovely winter dish that will satisfy your pasta cravings tremendously.  Fresh homemade egg noodles are served with a sauce of butter, cream and Parmigiano-Reggiano.  The heavenly flavor and creamy consistency will earn high marks for all of your pasta dreams. The pasta section of the menu is time and time again the best section and we are always so impressed.
Peachy is a proud chicken parmesean addict and she never plans to recover.  The Patsy's Chicken Parmigiana is a fabulous rendition of the all-time favorite and the gorgeous aroma will welcome you to the Scognamillo family with its authenticity and outstanding flavor.  The size is generous and you'll enjoy it just as much the next day.  If you are looking for something on the lighter side, the Salmon with Mustard Sauce is a clearcut victory of the sea and is presented at an ideal medium.  The oven-roasted filet is brilliantly grilled with Dijon mustard sauce.
Our favorite wine is the Super Tuscan Roxanne by Sting!
No red lights needed: only Patsy's chandelier!

The desserts at Patsy's are found on their iconic dessert tray, and this trip we tried at Sal's suggestion the cassata cake above, and the carrot cake below, both immensely exquisite.
Patsy's is highly recommended by Whom You Know!
