#MovietimeInManhattan @WBPictures @ManhattanPeachy #HighlyRecommended #TheManySaintsofNewark Plus a Quote from @StevenSchirripa #BobbyBaccalieri The Many Saints of Newark COMES HOME FROM WARNER BROS. HOME ENTERTAINMENT 4K, Blu-ray and DVD arrive on December 21, 2021

It's not who you know, it's WHOM you know and it always has been ever since the English language started.  We are proud to have worked with Warner Brothers Pictures continuously since 2010, and we could not be more excited to Highly Recommend The Many Saints of Newark!

As you know, we love The Sopranos (like every red-blooded American even if you are not Italian and not from New Jersey-even preppy Irish girls from Connecticut like it!), and recently we listened to Willie Boy and Paul Schirripa and their wisdom pointed us in the direction of "Woke Up this Morning" which earned our highest recommendation:

So, though Peachy is a movie expert she will put her opinion after their dad Steve: obviously he is a SOPRANO.  Before we watched this movie, we had to see what Steven Schirripa had to say about #TheManySaintsofNewark .

So there you have it from the Sopranos expert we know, Bobby Baccalieri himself.

The amount of detail that went into The Many Saints of Newark from the color scheme to the tight editing to the sound effects and appropriate music were excellent.  If you are a fan of nuance and shades of gray that separate the excellent from the ordinary, which obviously you are because you are reading us, you will appreciate all the small decisions made that make this a spectacular flick to see.

We agree that Alessandro Nivola is phenomenal as Dickie Moltisanti and his commitment to his character sets him apart from the rest of the cast.  This is Christopher's father...and that is who co-wrote the book with Willie Boy and Paul's dad.  The emotional intelligence he projects and his leadership define the title of this movie: he shows how there is good and bad in everyone in extreme fashion not only through his actions but also by his reactions.   If you think your life is complicated, wait until you see his.  This theme reminded us of one of our favorite Jackie Kennedy quotes:

“I have been through a lot and have suffered a great deal. But I have had lots of happy moments, as well. Every moment one lives is different from the other. The good, the bad, hardship, the joy, the tragedy, love, and happiness are all interwoven into one single, indescribable whole that is called life. You cannot separate the good from the bad. And perhaps there is no need to do so, either.”
- Jackie Kennedy

We love how Briggs Myers is quoted as Tony is growing up and not surprisingly, identified as a leader.  Though with we believe less screentime than Nivola, Michael Gandolfini was brilliant and of course the one and only choice to play a young Tony Soprano.  Michael is perfection and it's clear that he rides on no coattails and put in the work and has the talent on a standalone basis.

Though we agree those two are the best, there is a wide spectrum of talent.  Livia is also a hoot as you might expect, and everyone from Junior to Pussy will make you smile and say you have to watch all of the Sopranos again and read Steve's book again because The Many Saints of Newark is a prequel and comes first.  All of the characters have drank from the fountain of youth and jump out at you with their larger-than-life personalities.

For all the Salon Peachy enthusiasts you will be pleased to know a beauty parlor is referenced in this movie (but not quite Edward Tricomi's Plaza or John D'Orazio's Madison Avenue...oh wait, those sound like two Italian names, don't they?!).

Among the scenes we liked the best is walking on the beach in winter...the opening part, not the end of the scene!  It started out with a great sense of calm and all is well with the world...and in nearly all the scenes brilliant shades of passion in all hues come to the forefront, for better or for worse.  It will continually keep you plugged in and is well-balanced throughout.

The Many Saints of Newark is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.

Peachy's bunny Seamus and her doggie Scooby (a warmie remember we reviewed him too) send their highest regards to Willie Boy and Paul Schirripa and suggest buying these two in tandem for every Sopranos fan you know this holiday season!

Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti (Alessandro Nivola), who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities—and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano.
