It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know Paul Nicaj, one of our most favorite restauranteurs throughout the years dating back to when we were the first to review Battery Gardens after Hurricane Sandy we believe in 2013. And that's his smiling face above on the menu! Along with Dino Redzic and Nick Krkuti, he owns Uncle Paul's Pizza which is back! This is its first feature since covid and it was last featured in 2019. It has been a Peachy's Pick since 2014.
Meet the Shrimp Parm! Everyone knows about Chicken Parm and we love that, but not many places have Shrimp Parm Grinders (Peachy calls them Grinders because that's what people do in Connecticut; Heroes in New York and Subs in Boston are the same sandwich.) The delightful little shrimps were delicious in the classic cheese and tomato and will brighten your day especially on a stormy one like today. We are showing you how Uncle Paul's Pizza goes way beyond the pizza and that includes their pasta dishes like this all-time favorite Chicken Alfredo (you could also add shrimp). Perfectly grilled superbly sliced chicken perches upon al dente noodles that absolutely hit the spot in a wonderful way: exactly what you want in this hot number.
Bathing suit season is upon us my friends (wait is Peachy starting to quote Steve Schirripa verbiage?) and you should all be excited for the upcoming hit from a historically favorite brand on Whom You Know, Miraclesuit. To that end, Peachy is paying more attention than ever to eating healthy and you ought to be doing that anyway. Uncle Paul's pizza has some wonderful items under the "Extras" section including Sauteed Mushrooms above and Sauteed Spinach below each flavored wonderfully and accentuated with red pepper and cherry tomatoes, respectively.
For our red pasta, we opted for the essential spaghetti and meatballs, which would even meet the high standards of Lady and the Tramp. These beauties are 100 percent beef and no one will accuse Peachy of being a vegan: she is a Deegan. The texture of the meatballs and the consistency was particularly commendable. Continuing along the healthy theme, meet the superlative Grilled Organic Vegetables under the appetizers. Squash, red peppers, green peppers, and zucchini all revel in a dusting of herbs and balsamic. Remember we never edit pictures. You excel like Dino and team or you are not published on!
Bien sur mes amis we are big advocates of the green salad for every meal. Meet Uncle Paul's Salad, the signature salad here. Crispy bacon (obviously everyone's most favorite vegetable), roasted peppers, red onion, fresh mozzarella and grilled mushrooms all in perfect proportion are crispy, fresh and exactly what you want a salad that is a step above to achieve.
Of course, no review of this place would be complete without a pizza! Try not to drool on your screen please we like to keep it clean here...
Some people think of the great plains in the middle of the USA but Peachy thinks of them on pizza.
