#ReadThis #PARIS #TheMemoir by @ParisHilton #ParisHilton @HarperCollins

We were told:

"Heiress. Party-girl. Problem-child. Selfie-taker. Model. Cover girl. Reality star. Self-created. These are labels that have been attached to Paris Hilton by others.

Founder. Entrepreneur. Pop Culture-Maker. Innovator. Visionary. Survivor. Activist. Daughter. Sister. Wife. Mom. These are roles Paris Hilton embraces now as a fully realized woman."

We would add to this list: PIONEER.  We say in our headline that we were influencers before the term existed; Peachy Deegan has worked for CBS News in three cities, ESPN, the AP and other publications and has real journalism experience not to mention a top-notch education.  She has never been randomly writing.

However, Paris Hilton came about ten years before we started doing this and really deserves credit for inventing this and she is most definitely THE FIRST INFLUENCER and created the whole industry.   Paris says the term influencer started in 2015 (p.230).  She did it in person first and then incorporated it to be online.  We have tremendous respect for her work ethic and expertise and most of all, staying power.  For anyone that dismisses her talent and intelligence, you don't really know her and you need to read this memoir most of all.

This book exceeded our expectations.  We were watching The Simple Life ages ago and we loved it; this was also way before Whom You Know, and got a kick out of it.  It was entertaining but what has a lot of people fooled is this is a character that Paris has created: it's not really her.  She has emerged victorious from many challenges life has thrown at her and is also a survivor.

Why are you going to love this?
Paris creates words: sliving means slaying and living your best life
Fun is her jet fuel
Paris also loved 90210 and named pets after all the people in it
Paris originated the Unicorn Trot
She knows one does not have to fit in and being original is the best
Did you know she played ice hockey at Canterbury?

This book is full of surprises.

Gram Cracker was our second most favorite character after Paris and we were delighted to see her maiden name is Dugan.  We did not know that before reading this and maybe 23 and me can shed some light on that.

Also we hope she finds the thick book reader with the braid who's a dog person; help without judgment!  Human kindness!  And yes, the law should protect a woman's right to control images of her own body (p. 246) and girl-shaming as a sport and industry needs to be over.

And Paris, what diner on the Upper East Side did you go to on page 160?

Paris the Memoir by Paris Hilton is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!
It's hot: Slive, and read this!

Also we suggest you watch this This is Paris documentary after you read the book.

Dey Street Books is thrilled to publish PARIS: The Memoir by Paris Hilton An Imprint of WILLIAM MORROW 195 Broadway, New York, NY 10007

Paris rose to prominence as an heiress to the Hilton Hotels empire, but cultivated her fame and fortune from being the “it girl” of the aughts, a time marked by the burgeoning 24-hour entertainment news cycle and advent of the celebrity blog. Using her celebrity brand, Paris set in motion her innovative business ventures, while being the constant target of tabloid culture that dismissively wrote her off as “famous for being famous.” With tenacity, sharp business acumen and grit, she built a billion-dollar global empire and, in the process, became a truly modern icon beloved around the world.

Now, with courage, honesty and humor, Paris Hilton is ready to take stock, place it all in context, and share her story with the world. Separating the creation from the creator, the brand from the ambassador, PARIS: The Memoir strips away all we thought we knew about a celebrity icon, taking us back to a privileged childhood lived through the lens of undiagnosed ADHD and teenage rebellion that triggered a panicked— and perilous—decision by her parents to send her away.

Led to believe they were saving their child’s life, Paris’s mother and father sent her to a series of wilderness camps and “emotional growth boarding schools” where she survived almost two years of verbal, physical and sexual abuse. During a time of hell we now call the “troubled teen industry,” Paris created a beautiful inner world where the ugliness couldn’t touch her. She came out, resolving to trust no one but herself as she transformed that fantasy world into a multibillion-dollar reality.

Recounting her perilous journey through pre-#METOO sexual politics with grace, dignity, and just the right amount of sass, PARIS: The Memoir tracks the evolution of celebrity culture through the story of the figure at its leading edge, full of defining moments and marquee names. Most importantly, Paris shows us her path to peace while she challenges us to question our role in her story and in our own. Welcome to PARIS.

MORE ABOUT THE AUTHOR: For over two decades Paris Hilton has defined and dominated pop culture, commanding her position as one of the most recognizable humans on the planet. Hilton has masterfully harnessed her self-made spotlight to architect a thriving entertainment and consumer products empire that has amassed $4 billion in revenue and spans an impressive range of businesses and verticals including TV, film, audio, music, publishing, licensing, consumer products, brand partnerships and more. Her dominance is undeniable, and as the O.G. “influencer” Hilton designed the playbook for harnessing the power of superstardom and a devoted social following and transforming it into a multibillion-dollar global business. In 2021, Hilton brought her businesses together under the 11:11 Media brand, with a laser focus on creating joy around the world through inspirational, impactful, and thought-provoking premium entertainment content, experiences and products.

Hilton’s signature area of innovation has been web3 and the metaverse – a natural extension of her behemoth social fandom and digital platform – earning her the crown of “Queen of the Metaverse.” Hilton’s trailblazing push into the metaverse is propelled by her passion for breaking barriers, elevating artists – particularly female and female-identifying artists – supporting creative expression, and building community.

Beyond her pioneering work in the metaverse, Hilton has dedicated herself to using her powerful platform and influence to build a longstanding legacy of meaningful impact and social justice, particularly around empowering women and girls.

Hilton is indisputably one of the most successful self-made entrepreneurs on the planet, founder of a thriving entertainment and consumer products empire that spans an astonishing breadth of verticals. But what makes her an icon is her willingness to experiment with and support emerging technology, carve a pathway for equality in new spaces, and demand change to broken systems. Hilton is owning her deserved place as the ultimate multi-hyphenate: savvy business woman, inspiring leader, social justice activist, creative innovator, and timeless pop culture icon.
