Guinness is good for you and even better with Frank Spinatra!
You are not living your best life if you have not done the Heisman Pose with him.

Obviously all food is going to taste better if you hang a Doug Flutie jersey on your wall...remember who is typing. It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and recently we were delighted to meet Brendan Cullinan, owner of Tipsy Nomad along with his father, Tony Cullinan, a Tipperary native and his sister, Cara Cullinan. As we head into the high holy time of Stanley Cup Playoffs, it is more important than ever to distinguish the best places to see them, and all other sports for that matter. Nomad is a Manhattan neighborhood north of Madison Square Park. Tipsy Nomad is absolutely a sports bar, but if you are going to go to a sports bar, obviously you should be going to a one that is as clean as the Tipsy Nomad and with a delicious menu like they have too.
The menu is simple and straightforward; what they do, they do well.
The current menu began 18 months ago, and they do wings and pizza.
In addition to nine lines of beer, Guinness and Bud Light being the bestsellers, they also have zero alcohol options if that is what you are looking for.
There are six wing flavors to choose from and Buffalo, above, and BBQ, below are the best sellers. They were beautifully presented and arrived in style with celery and dressing singing backup, and these wings were coated just right, not too much, not too little and the chicken inside was indeed tender.
Their bathrooms are clean and in the back and we really like the full length mirror which you almost never see in bars. It is nice to know you get towels with your wings because no one wants a mess.
Even better was the pizza!
We first tried the Classic which is the building block and it was a solid performance: homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and pecorino romano. Really outstanding is the Vodka Roni, above, which was our favorite this first visit. This is composed of mozzarella, pepperoni, basil and pecorino romano and drumroll please, their OWN BESPOKE VODKA SAUCE! Note they are not Italian either: Brendan and Cara, American, have a mother with Donegal roots making them 100 percent Irish. This vodka sauce boasts incredible flavor and is not typical of your regular sports bar; but since when are we interested in just regular anything.
We are interested in excellence: Ever to Excel.

Also highly convincing is the Cherry Plum, another hot number pictured below.
Homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, cherry plum tomatoes, arugula, peppers and basil grace your presence with robust freshness.
On the healthy side or if you are a vegan, opt for the Papa Ciro, above.
Homemade tomato sauce, spinach, roasted red peppers which amp up the flavor just right, bread crumbs and basil team up for a nutritious option. The day we visited, the Caesar Salad with fried chicken was a special and was lightly dressed to perfection. As you know, Caesar is the only version of salad Peachy ever wants dressed.
We are huge pizza enthusiasts and have written on pizza at length. The second best pizza we tried was the Frank Spinatra: Mozzarella, Spinach, Basil, Pesto, and Pecorino Romano. All of the pizzas have the right amount of ingredients in good proportion to each other, and as always, our pictures are unedited. The food really does look this smashing. The pizza creations are interesting, delicious and original without being overdone with trends that don't work. Finally, for the more carnivorous among you please meet Roma, below. Homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy sausage and peppers await you.
Yes they pull a perfect pint and Peachy has been a resident of Ireland and has been to the Guinness factory in Dublin.
In case you haven't read the first 29,000 posts, not only is Peachy Deegan a Boston College graduate, but also she was a tour guide for four years, a professional sportswriter as a student and beyond, and the whole concept of Whom You Know has a mission statement of Ever to Excel.
We identify excellence and those that pursue it.
Tipsy Nomad has been the Boston College bar since Spring 2020.
Here are nine more reasons to love Tipsy Nomad:
It is like this all the time we are told, and it was not made up for Peachy's visit.
Tipsy Nomad really impressed us on our first visit and we look forward to seeing what they do next.
