Tantalize Your Tastebuds with the Sublime, Suberb, Sensational TONOS, Greek for Tuna!
The calendar tells us that June 21st is summer, but the temperature has reached the strastospheric heat in Manhattan already and the culinary party has started at our favorite beach, AMMOS!  Ammos as you devoted readers know means SAND in the Greek language, and we have sung its praises for ages.  Founder and Owner and of course authentic Greek restaurateur Dimitris Nakos has been hard at work reinventing the favorites with the summer flavors in mind as he continues to bring the best of his native Athens to your lunch and dinner with style and taste enjoyed with your pinkies out at the perfectly pressed white tablecloth tables of Ammos Estiatorio.

Lobster Yogurt Salad has been reinvented in the Appetizer section!
Lightly steamed luxurious chunks of steamed lobster elegantly waltz with premium Greek yogurt once cooked.  This is further elevated with beautifully chopped Florida orange segments that add flavor without overwhelming the seafood, obviously the star of the show.
It's dressed with a Citrus Honey Ginger Emulsion mixed in.
Peachy personally gravitated further to the contrast in coolness with her favorite color, GREEN: dressed basil evoo with a hint of mint encircled this wonder from the sea.
In this high holy season of the Stanley Cup Finals (are you reading NHL Peachy) the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers certainly are dreaming of what they might put in the cup to drink out of it.  Well guys, why not think about what you could EAT out of it?  To that end, gorgeous Medium Rare Tuna, Tonos in Greek, is majestically perched upon a bed of smashingly fresh cooked vegetables teaming up for a delicious main course to celebrate summer in spectacular fasion.  
The tuna itself is gracefully herb-crusted with basil and parsley and the slightest touch of mint, with an alluring ginger soy vinaigrette baked in to the tuna to wow your summer taste levels.
A vegetable medley of sauteed spinach in evoo, baby carrots, wild shiitake and cremini mushrooms, and ravishing roasted peppers are encircled with the same sublime green: dressed basil evoo with a hint of mint.  
Finally, no summer is complete without the right amount of sorbet and ice cream and it's crafted fresh daily on premises at Ammos Estiatorio for you to finish you meal with just the right touch of the season!  The ice creams flavors are constant: strawberry, chocolate, fig and vanilla, each delicious in their own right.  Opt for your favorite flavor!  The fig is truly authentic and unique so if you like figs too, absolutely try it.  
The sorbets vary daily and of all of these, Peachy personally totally loved the raspberry sorbet, shown here on the left with coconut.  Lemon might come to the party another day.
Also, Ammos plans the best events around centrally located steps away from Grand Central Terminal.
