On Tuesday 23 September at 6.00 pm, the Auditorium of The Square at the Bologna Fiere Service Centre will be hosting the International Ceramics of Italy Press Conference, bringing together journalists from all over the world attending the 42nd edition of the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings and organised in collaboration with MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) and with the Italian Trade Agency.
The event, which will begin with a welcome from representatives of the institutions, will include a report on the performance of the Italian ceramic industry, market prospects, a description of new style trends and the promotional strategies implemented in the various markets.
The second part of the event will feature the presentation of the Ceramics of Italy Journalism Award 2025, now in its 28th edition. The prize is awarded to the foreign journalist who has produced the best article on Cersaie and the Italian ceramic industry in foreign print magazines and web portals. In this record-breaking edition, 274 articles appeared in 90 different newspapers published in 17 countries.
The panel of judges, chaired by the Chairman of the Confindustria Ceramica Promotional Activities and Trade Fairs Commission, Filippo Manuzzi, and composed of Cristina Mandrini (Il Bagno Oggi e Domani), Davide Cattaneo (Arketipo) and Andrea Serri (Cer Magazine International) awarded the prize to Simon Ooghe for the article "Architectural space takes centre stage at CERSAIE 2024” published on the Polycaro web portal (Belgium). The rationale: “For describing the different aspects of aesthetic trends, cultural events, and the locations of Cersaie, with an in-depth look at topics such as the European 'Green House' directive and the Bathroom at Cersaie. An article within a digital dossier looking at a variety of aspects”.
Three honourable mentions were awarded: to José Luis Gonzalez Cruz, editor of Sala Baño (Spain), Leopoldo Villardi, journalist of Architectural Record (USA) and Françoise Faure, editor of Espaces Contemporains (Switzerland).
