The inauguration of SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection at Expo 2025 Osaka in the Italy Pavilion.
Inaugurated at Expo Osaka 2025 in the Italian Pavilion, the exhibition SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection 1998–2025 celebrates the meeting of international creativity and Italian manufacturing. The exhibition was unveiled during the official opening ceremony of Italian National Week. Cutting the ribbon alongside Marva Griffin, Founder and Curator of SaloneSatellite, were Mario Vattani, Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, and Matteo Zoppas, President of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE).
In the afternoon, a Design Talk was held with Marva Griffin, Founder and Curator of SaloneSatellite, opened by the official remarks of Mario Vattani and Matteo Zoppas. The session was introduced by Rossella Menegazzo, Head of Culture, Science and Education at the Italian Commissioner’s Office for Expo 2025 Osaka.
The talk featured several designers who have marked different editions of SaloneSatellite, invited to discuss the relationship between Italian production and international creativity, with an eye to Japan. Participating studios included TONERICO:INC. (Hiroshi Yoneya, Ken Kimizuka, Yumi Masuko, Kimizuka Nanako), HONOKA.lab (Ryo Suzuki, Shoichi Yokoyama, Moritaka Tochigi), mist-o (Tommaso Nani), SUPER RAT (Kazuki Nagasawa) and Hanako Kita.
