The BMW 3-Series is BMW. No other model defines the brand more completely. Universally recognized and globally admired, the 3-Series has become synonymous with performance, precision, and prestige. When drivers think BMW, they think Three.

BMW 3-Series 50 Years (publishing November 4, 2025) is the definitive celebration of this iconic lineage. From the debut of the 316 in 1975 to today’s cutting-edge G20, author and historian Tony Lewin traces the evolution of BMW’s most successful model across five decades of innovation, competition, and cultural impact.

Lewin’s engaging narrative begins with the 3-Series’ pre-war roots and key predecessors like the 1960s 2002, then moves through each generation—from the clean, classic two-box design of the E21 and E30 to the beloved E46 and today’s sophisticated lineup. Along the way, readers will discover: First-person interviews with designers, engineers, and insiders
Archival and contemporary photography, including commissioned visuals
Sidebars exploring design stories, related models like the Z cars, and collector insights

The book also dives deep into the 3-Series’ performance legacy, with a special focus on the legendary M3. From motorsport milestones to prototype development, club culture, and the classic car market, BMW 3-Series: 50 Years offers a comprehensive look at the car that shaped BMW’s reputation and captivated enthusiasts worldwide.

Whether you're a lifelong BMW fan, a design aficionado, or a newcomer drawn to automotive excellence, this book is a must-have addition to any enthusiast’s library.
