Minted and BRIDES Introduce a Fresh, Joyful Hue That Brings the Spirit of the Islands to Wedding Celebrations in 2026 and Beyond

Island Citrus, named the 2026 Wedding Color of the Year by Minted and BRIDES, reflects the growing trend toward bold, destination-inspired hues. Searches for “yellow” are up 46% year-over-year on Minted, underscoring couples’ love for bright, optimistic tones. Courtesy of Minted.
Minted, the omnichannel premium design brand known for stationery and décor, in collaboration with BRIDES, the leading editorial wedding resource celebrating over 90 years of nuptial inspiration, today unveiled Island Citrus as the 2026 Wedding Color of the Year.

“Minted’s unique insights — sourced from design challenges, consumer voting, and how consumers customize our products for their weddings — enable us to consistently spot emerging trends early." - Melissa Kim, Co-Founder and CEO of MintedShare

This radiant shade — equal parts sunshine and tropical fruit — embodies the laid-back luxury, optimism, and joy that modern couples are embracing in 2026. Drawing inspiration from palm-lined coastlines, sunset toasts, and the warmth of destination celebrations, Island Citrus offers a modern take on timeless romance.

“For the third consecutive year, we’re thrilled to unveil our annual Wedding Color of the Year with our partners at BRIDES,” said Melissa Kim, Co-Founder and CEO of Minted. “Minted’s unique insights — sourced from design challenges, consumer voting, and how consumers customize our products for their weddings — enable us to consistently spot emerging trends early. In 2026, couples are craving color with energy and meaning. Island Citrus embodies that balance: vibrant, warm, and deeply joyful. It’s a shade that works as a statement or a subtle accent, and we expect to see it shine across stationery, fashion, florals, and beyond.”

To commemorate the color’s debut, Minted and BRIDES have launched a new stationery collection featuring designs from Minted’s global community of independent artists. The curated assortment showcases three key styles: island botanical, classic letterpress, and hand-drawn vintage. From save-the-dates and invitation suites to day-of details and thank-you cards, couples can infuse Island Citrus throughout their entire celebration.

On Minted, searches for “tropical” are up 33% year over year, and interest in destination wedding designs has surged 84%, reflecting couples’ growing desire to bring vacation energy and color into their celebrations. According to industry sources, destination weddings are projected to grow 30% by 2029, a rise attributed to couples’ pursuit of unique experiences, social media’s influence, the growth of wedding tourism, and the enduring cultural appeal of celebrating love in a meaningful location. Supporting the color’s momentum, searches containing “yellow” on Minted are up 46% year over year, with site data showing more visitors selecting the hue across key wedding categories — up 14% for save the dates, 33% for invitation suites, and 90% for day-of paperie — signaling that bright, joyful tones like Island Citrus are resonating with couples as they plan for 2026.

As part of the collaboration, BRIDES launched a series of articles that guide couples on how to bring Island Citrus to life, from expert tips on styling the hue, to floral inspiration and fashion pairings, and more.
