#InauguralReview #HimalayaOrganicVeganRestaurant Since February 14, 2026 by #ChuBu #1425YorkAvenue #UpperEastSide
The newest place in town might also be the most unique: Himalaya Organic Vegan Restaurant! The name is a mouthful, and so are the details of how it works.
Let us preface this by saying this is not how any other place we have ever seen works.
The menu changes every day, and the lunch menu is separate from the dinner menu.
Everything is Vegan.
Everything is Organic.
And it is authentically Himalayan as Chu Bu himself was born in Tibet and came to New York in 2007. Up until now, he has worked for others and this is his first venture into entrepreneurship.
Lunch is 11am to 4pm.
Dinner is 4pm to 9pm.
So, for the food, we did not pick out anything.
We are showing you what was being served when we visited.
There is one simple meal at each lunch or dinner and Chu Bu, the founder and owner, decides on what it is and you will be able to see it on the website as it happens. (Not in advance.)
There will be six items for the meal.
Above, please meet black eyed peas, and we understand proprietary spices, red and green cabbage are incorporated into this. It's truly authentic and everything is made from scratch.
Next, meet a mixture of collard greens and kale!
On it, you will discover a completely new flavor with the leek brown mushroom sauce.
This was the dinner food item we liked best.
It's the Green Split Pea soup, which also features green and yellow onion blended in as well as ginger. It was one of the more fragrant items to us although as a group all was fresh and authentic. It goes without saying with the healthy philosophy here, there is no liquor license.
They listened and put the dressing on the side, as is our preference, and this is spearmint lemon agave dressing. This entire experience is like going on a fresh vacation because it is highly likely you have not had any of this cuisine before either.
Butternut squash with kabocha yam is quite fragrant and inviting, and is a starring character in our humble opinion. The long grain brown rice, below, sings backup. There is no one item that we had that we feel would not go well with the other items, but of course what you think is your personal preference. We found the entire experience detoxifying and invigorating.
Even better than the food are the drinks.
If we saw more impressive juice places, as a whole this group would be featured more.
Above is the berry green smoothie, which is thicker.
Believe it or not, there are berries in it. The spinach in it seems color-dominant. While you taste the berries in it, to us, this is not looking berry-like.
The Celery Ginger Carrot Juice, below, is another winner for both flavor and invigorating qualities.
Our favorite however was the Orange Ginger Lemon. It was delicious and made Peachy feel like a superhero.
Desserts can be healthy!
It should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that Peachy liked the chocolate pie the best. Chu says it is 100 percent chocolate and it boasts a pecan and almond crust.
We look forward to seeing what they do next!
