CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY THE IRISH WAY at Langan's Since 1993 A Peachy's Pick Since 2012 by Desmond O'Brien (Up Tipperary) John Mahon (Up Longford) and Robert Mahon (Up Dublin) St. Patrick's Day March 17, 2026 Contemporary Irish Now At 114 West 47th Street Midtown Manhattan
Peachy Deegan and County Louth native General Manager Terri Rickwell of Langan's celebrate St. Patrick's Day 2026 a bit early to let you in on the best place in town for sophisticated Irish cuisine.
The New York Strip Steak Frites is a carnivore's dream:
Irish Girls always rule but ESPECIALLY ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!!
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we were born to broadcast the excellence of Ireland! We write about The Recording Academy Grammys and have for many years, but to us, we won the Grammy at birth with our Irish Grammy who taught Peachy how important it is to celebrate Irish pride on her first St. Patrick's Day. A younger Grammy is to the right with a younger Aunt Ronnie with two of their friends at a New York bar in the 1940's and now you know our true inspiration. Grammy and Aunt Ronnie read upstairs now and they are more famous online than they ever would have imagined in the 1940s. Aunt Ronnie made her own Bailey's Irish Cream from scratch.
Langan's became a Peachy's Pick immediately in 2012, and on this visit waitress Sierra Romo greeted us graciously when we walked in and we were delighted to work with superstar General Manager Terri Rickwell (Up Louth!) for the entire review, as always. Terri's genuine Irish hospitality is innate and not something that can be taught: she is like an exuberant, knowledgeable sunshine lighting up Langan's and she told us all about the current menu. We started off with salad! From every angle, The Cobb Salad announces that Langan's is in no way a typical Irish bar and restaurant. Crafted with premium baby watercress, amazing shredded brussels sprouts, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, boiled egg, hass avocado, essential coveted smoked bacon, gorgonzola, pickled red onions and their signature grilled chicken to-die-for, this salad rules! The well-cut ingredients are alongside house-made oregano red wine vinaigrette, on the side for the resident Ms. Pretty Picky who likes to apply it herself.
As we have preached prior, every competitive Manhattan place has absolutely got to have a commanding burger. Langan's does, and we featured their signature loaded Langan's Burger in our Fall 2025 review. It was amazing, but we wanted to meet the Classic Burger (80% lean, 20% fat) this time.
Of course in the world according to Peachy, all burgers must have cheese.
In the world according to Langan's, there are choices of mozzarella (Peachy picked that), swiss, cheddar and American. The Classic Burger is straightforward and absolutely hits the spot! It goes without saying that it was perfectly medium rare as we ordered it; it is served with lettuce, tomato, onions and house pickles. A classic is always in style and this is like the little black IRISH dress of cheeseburgers, and no one knows more about the accompanying potatoes than the Irish. Obviously. Potatoes are the piece de resistance of every Irish meal.
We must note that painting your nails green and wearing green lipstick is rather Irish American of Peachy, and we do not see people doing that in Ireland. But Peachy IS IRISH AMERICAN.
The Farro Salmon Salad puts many competitors to shame in its hearty goodness and generous size of salmon, and it is Roast Salmon. If you prefer, you may substitute shrimp if your little heart desires. Faro (not Mia) is the base and it is gorgeously accentuated by cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon radish, avocado, roast sweet peppers and cilantro. Champagne vinegar dressing comes the the party, because when you aren't drinking champagne, you can eat it!
The interior boasts modern classic appeal. So does the cocktail list!
Meet Rhu the day. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin, rhubarb liqueur, madagascar vanilla, and egg white are topped off with luxurious egg white custard foam, lending an elegant, tart and aromatic appeal for your palate this spring. It's a dessert-leaning take on a traditional gin sour.
Bramble and Bloom, below, was Peachy's favorite cocktail and is her favorite cocktail anywhere in New York at the moment. Muff Irish Vodka and fresh blackberries team up with lemon simple and mint for a rich depth of flavor on your palate evocative of Ribena but in a far more elevated manner.
The cocktails at Langan's are inventive without any of the trendy ridiculousness of lesser venues.
In every way on the menu Langan's has announced with their excellent quality that this is the advent of modern Irish classic cuisine in America.
Nothing says St. Patrick's Day like a Corned Beef Reuben!
Gruyere, sauerkraut, homemade Russian dressing and of course the beloved Corned Beef are a bastion of excellence encompassed by absolutely exquisite rye bread. Each and every bite of this superior sandwich tell you Langan's is in it to win it and you and your appetite are beyond delighted that this restaurant has been resurrected. If you are craving pasta, the Lobster Ravioli are an excellent choice! Squid ink pasta and sauteed spinach dance an Irish jig in red pepper cream sauce.

The truth is your dinner does look this great if you know where to go!
The New York Strip Steak Frites is an entirely majestic 12 ounce center cut steak, sliced for you and properly labeled with the way you ordered it! Medium rare in our case. The compound butter chimichurri achieves just the right touch of flavor nuance without overwhelming the steak itself. And house fries as we alluded to earlier simply do not get better than when they are on an Irish menu. No one knows potatoes like the Irish know potatoes. Every bite of this succulent steak was an edible victory and this celebratory entree will make your everyday extraordinary. Life is short. Eat the steak!
We love the cute little medium rare flag that confirms our ordering style!
Finally, we cannot get over the hot little number that calls itself Roasted Chicken Club Sandwich. You have to order at least two (eat one at Langan's, bring one home) because you can count on dreaming about it and then it will be in your refrigerator so you can quite literally make your dreams come true! Every element is pure perfection from the applewood smoked bacon to the intoxicatingly delicious herb aioli to the baby romaine and the beefsteak tomatoes and obviously, the chicken itself which deems most other chicken sandwiches inferior. Multigrain bread is substantially amazing and house pickles sing backup.
We always like to include a fish, and Fish and Chips by those on the other side of the Atlantic are so much better than any American version. You might have to live on the other side of the pond to really understand, however, you could just go to Langan's! Beer-battered crispy codfish and tartar sauce are served with the aforementioned house fries.
A coffee cocktail and the Sticky Toffee Pudding seal the deal on a perfect St. Patrick's Day culinary celebration at the best Irish place in town, Langan's!
They've got cars big as bars, they've got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you, it's no place for the old
When you first took my hand on a cold ST. PATRICK'S EVE
You promised me Broadway was waiting for me
You were handsome, you were pretty, queen of New York City
When the band finished playing, they howled out for more
Sinatra was swinging, all the drunks, they were singing
We kissed on a corner, then danced through the night
The boys of the NYPD choir were singing "Galway Bay"
And the bells were ringing out for ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
Langan's continues to be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know and we are so glad it's back!
Note the shamrock on the menu indicates a spirit from Ireland
